In t2 Engies have access to Unshakable Focus while Magi lack it. So, even though they can both can hit through walls, engies will be hitting for 100% more damage (for 7s) which is huge. Fighting 2+ engies in keep defense is a real pain. Also, since talismans are not working they are not being limited by armor/toughness. Magus are just plain weak in t1/t2, but start to shine in t3 (assuming renown abilities are available).
engi can run corp damage t4 magi doesn't touch engi never has tank engi also beats tank magus

My lvl 20 WE got crit for 522 by one tick of an engi's Fragmentation Grenade while he had M2 up: ~1/6 of my hp gone in one tick. That's why ppl don't like em :P

Dno if it's still the case but it's not just M2 that's bugged, detaunts etc weren't affecting pre-cast dots not long ago so you can't even use that to try and save yourself. Plus the fact that some abilities are usable on the move that shouldn't be. Also there's a lot more engis about than magi so there's more of em abusing no los.

@normanis All the 1s cast grenades required you to stand still, just like any other non-channel cast. You can see in that vid, for example, that at ~2:23, they stop to use Concussion Grenade on the WE. They've got Expert Skirmisher equipped for some of it though (-50% cast time) so makes it harder to see.

The main difference is the auto-attack guys... only Jaycub and Kaitanaroyr seems to understand what is happening (or this post is filled with biased players).
Ability wise , magus and engie are almost the same in T2 but they have two major differences :
-magus auto-attack is MELEE, engie auto-attack is RANGED. DO I really need to explain why it is better?
-M2 : engies have acces to "unshakable focus" while magus does not and doesn't have a similarly powerful morale. (I crit for 1K+ on my SH with "unshakable focus" and I know the abilities damage is higher on engie and SW because turret buf/no pet; it is really good)

So in destro you have on one side the squig herder who has the strong single target damage (also a pet who can wall-shoot but no aoe abilities) and on the other side you have the magus wit all the aoe potential we know.
On the other faction there is the engineer whom exceeds the single target damage of a squig herder with turretbuff and also have a better aoe potential than magus. There is no equivalent to the very very strong abilty (at least in T2 ror) that is "blunderbuss blast" : no cooldown-40yd range aoe (!) (!) The closest ability to this one is maguses "daemonic lash" wich hits harder but unfortunately is only melee range.

All of this makes engineer a very good choice to play on RoR at the moment. And the fact that they sums powers from different destro classes with the addition of a very nice Aoe spammable makes them look OP in the eyes of a destro player.

I think it might be a latency problem? I have about 250-300 ping and if I use acid bomb at max range it will play it's first animation but not the second one of it hitting the target (green splash) and will not tick, yet I lose action points.

Workaround for me is to just always make sure I'm a bit closer than max range if im going to use it.
