Pre forts oRvR had serious realm pride. Its gotten steadily worse since forts were introduced.
Problem: Current rewards systems greatly gives bonuses/bag rolls to steamrolling empty zones (looking at you, NA Order).
Solution:
Zone flips should give poor rewards if the zone has only been open a short time - barely any contribution possible and low bonuses to personal bag rolls to limit bags being given out.
Zone flips for contested regions (1* at least on losing side) should give medium rewards.
Zone flips for highly contested (3*+ on each side and open for 3+ hours) should give high rewards for all.
Problem: zone flipping does little to affect the overall campaign other than winning forts deciding which city burns.
Solution: hybrid model. Scheduled cities should be less frequent than current AND locking two pairings opens an impromptu city siege.
2 zones always open as with current. When side A locks a pairing, the 3rd pairing opens up. Side A must lock one of the remaining two pairings to start a city siege. If side B locks a pairing, Side A's locked pairing is lost and opened back up for capture by either side. No single zone pairing open possible.
Problem: xrealming lockouts aren't enough to deter some players from abusing the system to push campaigns to trigger desired events.
Solution: participating in a zone lock that triggers a fort zone or participating in a fort zone battle triggers a 1 hour lockout timer. No pushing a zone and then switching to an easy defense fort or pushing a fort then switching to opposing side for a city siege.
I'm sure something like this has been suggested before, though.
