Its better to reduce the damage youre going to take from crits than amount of crits thats why TB was better than FS. With large crit tactics, colossus talis, rr100 gear and cheese bw/sorc mechanic youre going to get crit and get crit often.

It was a stat that was basically MANDATORY BEFORE you came into T4 other wise you were gonna get rekt by the stupid crit powere creep of t4 (and even then people still died in like 3s)

i hated it b/c i hate being force to make your playstyle always use something i dont thinkany game should force decsions for players and that they should be able to spec and do whatever they want

There wasn't much you could do to increase crit at low tiers, but was initiative like that on Live?

You always had about 20% chance to be crit without any Initiative.
Pretty much always afk or tabbed out.

True

In a pre LOTD/1.4 environment it is a close call btw FS and TB especially for order. Regardless of what you prefer ini is quite valuble as a string of crits is lethal even with full TB.

Ps. Using FS only was viable combined with gear that also had -% to be crit but doing both made you bad ass

Afaik the higher your (unmodified) chance to be crit is, the more valuable is initiative. When you reach about 10% chance to be crit through initiative, the value is more and more diminishing and stacking it further is pretty pointless.
Also you can never reach 0% chance to be crit through initiative alone iirc.

if i remember correctly it was even possible to reduce the amount of crit of your opponent with enough ini and "-% to be crit"-items
anything below 0% to be crit would be taken away from your attackers chance to crit

wasn't shown in the tooltip though cause it only goes to 0%

My dok has 24 chance to be crit and it was like this on live as well, dd healers always have **** wounds ini and toughness if you dont stack them.
