Well, this is a topic about the population. And like NB or not, its the single largest contributing factor to the decline.
Actual discussion about it's merits aside from that is pointless in this thread, I agree. The past few pages serve as an example to that, its mostly just talking past eachother, with plenty of salt from both sides of the argument with nothing being accomplished

The simple truth is this game is dying, badly, and the population loss from the NB ban is the single biggest reason.

The question now is, would you prefer to have the game exist with a population that actually makes it fully playable, or no?

If yes, NB needs to come back
If no, then enjoy it while it lasts, population loss in multiplayer games tends to compound on itself.

This isn't me trying to insult any devs or players, I'm simply trying to lay out the reality of the situation as best as I can.

Even if you feel the game is better without nb, is it "losing atleast half the population with more to come" better? Thats the question that needs to be asked at this point, your answer is your own, but that is the current relevant question.

The bolster drop at 31 should be smoothed out, because you change from strong to rather weak. On the other hand, people can still do SC or keep doing rvr no matter what.
Any split will dry out the rvr player base, because it has to work for all time zones.
True the bolster is a great mechanic, and as you already mentioned it "breaks" after 31 and that is if you level the first time in warhammer a really hard experience. (When i started on this server i didn't get what Bolster is and was at cr40 with rr27). But now i leveled a Choppa and Magus through this misery and the hard thing is that Scenarios don't pop that frequently.

oh my friend there is no fun in getting steam rolled as a new player in merc/anni/conq-gear by a zerg full of vang - sov players...

What could be done is Splitting of RvR Zones into:
- T2/T3 < cr40
- T4: i would even say split of the vang+ players from lowies.

Why?
I leveled now several new chars and tried all mixes of renown and gear between full def or full offensive u just greatly get smacked by ppl with better gear. I tried super hard my magus (sov now) but that was real pain, either joining a wb/6man or solo u just get a lot of outnumbered fights, where u have to be fast in reactions. Most of the time i got kills by hitting afk players near BOs which shouldn't be the way to go.
My first char in RoR was 40 when conq was top gear...in that time tiers were separated....when i dinged CR40 was RR17 because midtiers were ghost towns...Mostly ppl simply stop play in midtiers...

A sentiment I agree with fully. But my point was more focused at addressing people who are staunchly against NB in anyway shape or form.

The days of "NB bad" vs "NB good" are months in the past.

My intent, with no ambiguity, is to make it clear that the current debate to have is.
1. NB back
2. Population continues to drop and you enjoy the game while it lasts.

Again, I can't decide the answer for my fellow players,
or the devs, but that IS the question on the table at this point.

I suspect these "staunchly against NB" folks are just afraid to go against/speak against the GMs or a super minority of ranked scen players who just want to dominate.

Why would someone be afraid to voice their opinion? People get banned for talking in a bad manner, not for going against a GM in a discussion.

i looked for a week now on prime time there 850 players so thats kinda normal - wait till balance patch new ranked season are out then the pop goes up again.

introduce warpforged gear, crests and medals

drop 3 gold bags in winning city with warpforged boots and gloves (BoE)

charge usual amounts for other gear pieces and add WF crests to orvr bags

charge 600 1h and 1200 2h ranked medals for rr90 weapons

watch 500 rr80+ player waiting on the sidelines come back tomorrow

reduce the 1 million incriments in rr lvls to something more reasonable and the grind will be real

make it so you can break down WF 5;1 royals and royals 5:1 invader

In short, give gear faster. Let's say it is no new suggestion and until now there was no intention to go this route. This should tell you something.
Dying is no option.
