I understand this, please correct me if i'm wrong:
WE must pay a particular attention to the players feelings and angriness, and in the same time, WE must accept silently salt and everything ? Who are we? Servants? We are dedicating our lives for this project and for players in general... None here asks for a thank you. None here ask for glory or gratitude. But there is so much hate... ...really?
What about the thousand of players actually enjoying the game without a single warning ? They are nothing ? Don't we have any respect for them ? Are we torturing them and abusing our power ? Isn't it the playerbase too?
First, of course you, i.e. the staff, should pay attention, and care about, the players' feelings, as you should in all human interactions. Naturally, I am not talking about balancing or other game decisions but rather in the direct communication with players.
Second, no, you should not need to accept people beeing rude to you. However, if you, the staff, decide to punish players when beeing rude to you then you should hold yourself to the same standard. Imo, a minority of the staff has failed in this regard, meaning the majority has not. Nevertheless, the actions of a few will reflect poorly on all as you are part of the same team from the player perspective.
Finally, the climate on the server is not toxic beyond belief as someone above put it, far from it. Having said that, the climate on the forum did lessen my enjoyment of the game. And this is coming from one of those without a single warning, everything is not about unjust bans.
