Stabbity Tree Ideas

I am guilty for not paying much attention to thia topic, but I was asked in casual conversation for my thoughts so here is first pass. My goal is to keep changes minor and tweak the class.

1. Allow the following core ranged abilities to be used while in Squig Armor:
- Yer Bleedin
- Rotten Arrer
- Run n Shoot
Converting other stabbing abilities to be used in SA would not be needed if some ranged abilities are allowed.

2. Add STR component to Masterful Aim (including SW version)

3. Remove TOU debuff from Pick on Yer Own Size (include SW version)

4. Change to tree to:

3 - Close Quarter (tactic)
5 - Pounce (ability)
7 - Clever Stabbin (tactic)
9 - Bad Gas (ability)
11 - New, Squig Army (tactic) ...summon 2 squig
13 - Big Bounce (ability)
15 - Wind up da waaagh (ability)

5. Make Indigestion Core, perhaps single target slightly higher dmg.

Or change Strength in Numbas from Morale Generating tactic to the 11pt one here and have it summon 2 pets of your choice.

What is it? Kind of proposal? Azarael already said that he wouldn't balance SH, melee tree either

excellent ideas, stinky.
Azarael already said that he wouldn't balance SH, melee tree either
why?? if it' s any class that should be worked on is the squig armor class. the devs are so concerned about buffing/nerfing, or as they say 'balancing' classes that have been around for so long and are played the most, why not throw something totally new and different into the battlefiled for a change by making the sh melee squigs a viable class to play? the tree is already there. is ithe modifications truly that difficult to make happen? or it simply just a time thing with the devs?

fun and diversity..thats what's going to keep this game going in the long run. imo anyway. of course I'm not implying that by making the melee squig a real option to play will bring a thousand new and old players back to the game, but it would certainly generate enough interest among folks to want to roll one and therefore make things a little more fun and interesting on the battlefield and sc's.

anywho, I truly hope the devs look into the stabbity tree one day

even is the SH melee tree is rebalanced, who will use it on the daily basis? people choose SH to be a kiter, not a gimped out melee class that is a huge squig... PoS is only good for bad gas and is only use for bomb warbands....

That cant be possible as that dosnt sound like Az at all, its pretty common knowledge that the stabbin tree is garbage for pretty much everything bar bad gas which isnt that great either and im pretty sure the devs said they want all tree to be viable

It should be buffed for the same reason that SW want to see the assault tree buffed

It opens up the potential for alternative playstyles (in this case for oRvR WB/WB play), that in of its self is sufficient reason

If sufficient desirable changes are made to the tree then its more than believable that one would spec fully into it

I will . I was playing squig herder only on live , looking for something new on RoR and playing engineer for now . I am waiting for this tree to up my squig herder again , I want a new experience with this class , melee squig would Ben really fun .

I'm not totally agree with your proposal (the tactic for summon 2 squig would be OP) I rather like to see the torquemadra proposal with pounce and charge . Bad gaz should be linked to SA , but I agree to have a tactic for strength .
