[POLL] What RvR system did you enjoy the most?
Re: [POLL] What RvR system did you enjoy the most?
I thought the VP to zone lock with sc wins counting was a good way to cack blocking the zerging side along with mutli zone open a the same time.(there is an issue with Population tho) ..But there got to be a better way then how it was at the end where your in the City twice a day.

You could prep a zone for lock with almoast no people And even cap it with only 2-3 people if there was no defenders So what happened was zone were taken really fast making em almoast impossible to defend coz to defend you had to spread out over pairings aswell. And there was no consequenses for the other realm invading your city wich actually lead to defenders just let it happen coz they could farm top tier gear from defending the invasion. Its pretty much the worst system in this game's history.

While all of the systems had their advantages and disadvantages, keep in mid the system that required PVE and SC to flip promoted premades and discouraged pugs. Pugs were asked not to que scenerios to prevent lost points. This can either be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective.

oh gosh the resource carrieres were horrible! people of the ror community, dont disappoint me!
They were buggy, no one cared about fighting it was only about chasing these thilthy little resource basterds.
I get a bad headache when thinking about it.
The best sollution imo would be the original method without the pve part counting in.
It has a reason why pvp and rvr were seperated back in the days. one of the few decisions that the devs were right about.
Making SC count in again will result in more ppl qeueing. this sounds nice in the beginning but I remember that often the victory lays in the hand of few premades who dominated the sc queues whenever it was about time to decide about locking a zone or not. in the end, i think sc should count in, but the system needs a bit tuning to not let it end in a worst case scenario, where few grps of ppl decided about lock or defeat.
So, +1 for oldschool desing (with slight changes to it)
edit: tastydwarves thats exactly what im afraid of. premades telling the majority of ppl not to queue so all the power lies in their hands :S

I personally think that almoast all the orginal design in this game was better and makes more sence tbh.saupreusse wrote:oh gosh the resource carrieres were horrible! people of the ror community, dont disappoint me!![]()

MJ who designed the game is probobly the best oRVR game designer out there.
There's plenty of stuff that got changed for the worse. It didn't seem like it at the time. But over time they had a large impact on the game. One example of is, how there used to be timers on talismans wich noone liked and was completly removed, This effected the economy wich in the long run seized to exist. The Dev team that took over after MJ did a good job with ballancing classes etz. But they screwed up the system by making changes to stuff that affected other things they didn't even tought of. And that lead to there being tons and tons of obsolete content in the game.

Re: [POLL] What RvR system did you enjoy the most?
the best system for me is a vp system based that improve and use also carrier for siege weapons, vp from sc need to be give only to underdogs, lock out timer must be preset, they dont allow enemy to avoid skirmish but timer need to be 30 min max (not 2h aka waithammer), 1 flag lost will push the lock but of 30 min so realm need to defend and so lock happens.
Flag need also when re tap to not just lock but have a 3 min timer so even with focussed small inc by underdog they can actialy make more flags flame.

Can't have a system were VP's from SC only effects "underdogs"
That will just encourage em to leave oRVR and que SC's instead.

Re: [POLL] What RvR system did you enjoy the most?
lock out timer wont allow that. ( no not 2h like live but something like 30 min), vp from sc is a way to earn vp, they would not block winnig realm lock, they just reduced underdogs realm vp.roadkillrobin wrote:Can't have a system were VP's from SC only effects "underdogs"

Something to consider is maybe this game shouldn't even have SC's. Just something to think on. What would happen if there wasn't SC's?

Exactly what happened in the first year of WAR... a lag fest dominated by PBAoE classes like BWs and Sorcs, making all other dps classes obsolete in the grand scheme of things. We/WH, (back then there were no slayers and choppas), Wls and Maras, SH and SWs all took a back seat to the BWs master race. At least in scenarios, the other classes had a meager chance though even back then AoE did a **** ton of damage, as well as WP AoE heals did a crap ton of healing.footpatrol2 wrote:Something to consider is maybe this game shouldn't even have SC's.
