Is it possible for them to trick the client into showing renown gains, even if they don't actually benefit us?

The server clearly registers gained renown/XP in scenarios, so it's not like it doesn't know we're getting any.

Honestly I wouldn't even be opposed to AAO disappearing - My guild and I would still jump out into the lakes and defend keeps as a 4man or a six man. And that would definitely slow down the rate that people acquired Renown.

In one 400% Session on my sorc I went from RR35 to 40 Jumping between three zones and doing keep defences. (I also helped level my healer guildy from 32-35 and pick up 5 renown ranks.)

If prefer RR 50 for the extra mastery point. But maintaining the low power gap seems to be the intent of only going to 45 so that's a moot feeling at this point.
