TbT i do hope that ToVL returns in its full glory broken items aside

i have a lot of good memories of the place, the first guilds i ever joined back on live was Dragons of Eternity and i got invited after doing some tovl runs with them

their was this really funny kotbs player in our guild who was pretty much 24/7 in lotd farming glyphs :D

ToVL was absolutely horrible as was PvE in general in WAR. This is one of those things best left dead. Grinding this garbo and broken dungeon for hours on end for game breaking, unbalanced drops to remain relevant was part of the issue on live.

ToVL was great. If that can be brought back, even with toned down gear, I would welcome it gladly.

So many memories of boss 7 and 8. Good times.

ToVL and LV both were great, nice change of pace and a fun challenge.

The same we have done with rr100 on live.

i did it enough to get the 2 dps am jewels, which was excrutiatingly painfull, and i never went again
There was only one gylph useful for dps AM, and even this one was at best equal to other available jewels. You remember the renown jewels?

Maybe rework lotd map to put some flag to cap 1 middle PQ (disable) 1 left 1 right on each sanctuary PQ (disable) and when you take them you can win some extra things when you killing both side doing PQ, farming running lairs etc etc ...

It will actually give people a reason to join a guild, too.

Obviously all the PVE instances were good. LV, BS, Crypt,

I agree with you both! Through that terrible place I got to learn alot of different people in different guilds. I think i had a love / hate situation with TOVL.
At the start it was like you had to have a set premade to do it with so all could get the stuff on their main toon. Also not many groups had finnished it either.
But with time it got into a lol place were we just went to slack off if pvp was bad. And guilds varied ofc in what they liked to do ingame. Some was Sc / PVE, some was pure oRVR /pvp guilds that only went there to get the gear.
And then they were those who went there to laugh and derp. And I believe I went there with your derp squad too Gotrin late in game :P Fruit was kinda of an addict of TOVL!

ps. those lizards spots besides the tombs were gold for farming armour pot mats

edit: also the alternative design of the gear from all of those instances were cool to have too.
Yeah I remember going a few as dps or tank with you and the pax guys and yes we all miss fruity kindest AM on the server. :/

Bring back LOTD plz!! :)

Torquemadra wrote:Your "rule" is a false premise, the original design of this game was sidegrades, pve and pvp pathways and pvp was never the path to the top untill the sov rework which was the beginning of the end. Dont forget, sentinel and dark promise were highly desirable sets in their day and performed at least as well as their comparative "pvp" sets.
Agreed, on live I went for Sentinel for PvP at first, too, because it was the thing to have for my build. :)

And there's nothing that speaks against balanced pve and pvp sets to use for differnt builds, really.
There is significant evidence in the DB of such things (and other awesome stuff that I will not mention at this time :p) so do not think the game was designed around pvping your way to the best sets over pve because that wasnt the case, just that EA turned off the cashflow and Mythic abandoned half the game.
I always guessed that. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
However I seriously doubt we will see the likes of odjira and the pocket items. As for tyrant? Well personally I would like to see the power creep end there with sov balanced to it accordingly but thats just me.
I always thought gear sets should correspond to each one of the Mastery trees of each of the classes and promote different play styles. For example, Assault SW was just perfect with Invader, because of the +5feet melee reach, no other set offered this, so that was the way to go. Sov broke that balance, because you could no longer "take it" or "dish it out" without Sov, and so puff it went with staying out of reach with skill and dancing(!) around your target...preferably choppas.... Yeah, that really works, I can vouch for that. :)
So if you are saying "balancing" I so agree that that is a really really really (really) good idea. Just that, as you've wrote, the difference of power really shouldn't be that much larger when comparing different sets of gear. Warlord and Invader, for example, weren't so very different in power, just that Warlord was for a different skill tree, of course. Never thought Tyrant was too much to take on when you were in Invader, too, though.
