Toughness or Armor Talismana and the Difference

Can someone tell me as a sword and board chosen what talisman to use at lvl 26. How much damage does each reduce and does toughness reduce physical and magic with armor reducing only physical? Another question if you are running a two handed chosen set up what talismans should I use?

You can easily check how much %mitigation for physical damage you can get by equipping armor items. Just look how much you would get from 1-7 talis then. 75% Is the softcap for Armor. Your actual armor % value can go up to 100%+ if you do wish so (to counter armor debuffs and enemy pierce), but you will never mitigate more than 75% in any case.

Toughness basically reduces the base attacking stat of your enemy. Meaning: A sorc has 1000 int and you have 600 toughness, her spells will be calculated against you (dmg wise!) like she has 400 int. Same for balli and str of course.

What you run basically depends on the stats you already have, just test around with it and see what fits the best

I've tried armour and toughness talis here, stickin with toughness for now as it's softcapped with the aura. That plus 6k HP and 2.5k armour feels fairly tanky.

That was pretty much what you'd do on live too, no S+B was stackin armour cos the SOV, DF and WF sets had ridiculous armour and like Noise said the actual dmg reduction was softcapped anyways. Stacked toughness talis, put RR points into blocking, TBs, maybe some wounds or initiative, or parry - voila, you're unkillable.

I personally use toughness jewels as my premade consists of 2 sorc/1 sorc and SH, most of the time, and we use a kiting gameplay style. Also, Order seem to have an abundance of DPS AMs/BWs/Engis and a lack of MDPS to warrant using armor talis.

With rr spent on block and parry, and with 720 toughness, MDPS are relatively easy to cope with anyway without having to use any extra armor talis. However now the guild is setting up a melee train 6-man and I wish I had a set with armor talis over toughness :/ but DEM PRICES!

I'll make you some up if I get a chance.

I took armour because I didn't have the toughness frags at the time, I'd dare say I'm tougher then some against white lions but that's about it really.
