SM Renown Points

So I don’t play my rank too often and am definitely not an expert in it, so am looking for some advice.

First question: does block % cap at 50%? Someone told me, and it was news to me as I used to max my block rate. Does the same rule apply to dodge/disrupt/parry?

Secondly, what secondary stats should I go for through renown points?

So far I maxed deft defender as it seems it’ll be more of a ranged meta, maxed reflexes for more parry to drop guard damage, and maxed impetus to boost def stays across the board.

In perfect balance I got:

1016 WNDS
960 TGH
-9.7% chance to be crit
48.3% block
24.6% parry
27.6% dodge
41.9% disrupt

Tactics I use are Isha’s protection, Vaul’s buffer, Calming Winds and Perfect Defenses.

I don’t have full Sov yet, so don’t get the 7pc proc. I play mostly in WBs, so need to stay alive and keep my guard alive.

For a WB tank, I’d probably keep the general direction you’re going with. Deft Defender makes sense if you’re expecting a lot of ranged pressure, and Reflexes is useful for reducing guard/parryable damage.

I’m not 100% sure on the exact cap mechanics, but I’d avoid pushing block much further once you’re already around 48% and put the next renown points into whatever defensive stat is giving you the most practical benefit. Your disrupt is already quite high, so I’d also look at balancing parry/block rather than stacking one stat too heavily.

Since you’re mainly guarding and trying to survive in WBs rather than roaming solo, I’d prioritize consistent mitigation and crit reduction over offensive secondary stats. Once you get the 7pc bonus, you can probably reassess the spread.heardle
