T4 PvE Rework
Following the completion of the T3 PvE rework, we've begun work on T4.

- All Tier 4 Achievements have been implemented.
All Exploration/Pursuits achievements are now implemented, including many which Mythic never had implemented on live.

- All Tier 4 History and Lore & Noteworthy Person unlocks have been checked/implemented.
This includes many fixes to Noteworthy persons which were listed in the wrong zone, or unlisted. Please note that while T4 Keep NPCs are now listed in the Noteworthy Persons, their unlocks will not work until the new NPCs are implemented with the T4 Keep NPC rework. That is still pending.

- All Tier 4 Bestiary unlocks have been implemented.
This includes some that never existed on live.

- All Tier 4 Kill Collectors have been adjusted/implemented with improved rewards, along with their associated achievements.
Kill collectors have hidden counters, and you will not get the indicated reward until you have maxed out the counter. The amount of kills ranges from 30-60 kills (whereas previously all were set to 60 kills).

- All Tier 4 Keep/BO unlocks have been fixed/implemented.
This includes fixing all of the swapped warcamps in the Tome of Knowledge where, for example, Eataine BOs would be listed under Caledor and vice versa.

- All Tier 4 Areas have been fixed/implemented, including the building/implementing of areas in the side zones of West Praag, Cinderfall, and Death Peak


Please note that some unlock conditions have changed since live, so old guides (including the ones on the RoR wiki) may not be accurate.

All Tier 4 Hidden quests have been disabled until they are ready to be properly reintroduced.

For the remaining elements of the Tier 4 PvE Rework (PQs, Influence, Quests) we will be dividing the chapters into two groups. We will first be fixing content from chapters 15-18, and afterwards work on chapters 19-22.

Battlefield Objective Rework

Big updates to Battlefield Objectives are arriving with this patch! We're doing away with the old system, which was both a little confusing and not clear to players, and replacing it with a new Battlefield Objective Reward system which will motivate players to move around, capture, and defend BOs across the map.

First, let's talk about what we're swapping out:

- Removed old battlefield domination buff
- Removed hidden buff around BOs that increased rewards of kills the closer you were to a flag
- Removed Field of glory
- Removed Battlefield Control Buff

We've taken all the rewards from these systems and merged them into a single new system, along with some new perks:

New RvR War Crest Bonuses:


- Capturing BOs will now also grant each player in that capture 1 war crest. This has a 5 minute cooldown.
- Returning supplies to a Keep will award a single War Crest. If in a group, this is rolled like normal.

New Battlefield Objective Capture Bonus (T2+):

Now when you capture a BO, you'll gain a 20 minute Buff unique to that BO that grants:

• 30% increased Renown Gain from Kills in RvR
• 30% Increased XP from kills in RvR
• 30% Increased influence from kills in RvR

To encourage players moving to new BOs and traveling the map, these buffs will stack, and are unique per BO, allowing players to build up to 120% boost to RR/XP/Inf from RvR kills if they run the full map and continue to secure objectives. This buff is only present while in the lake that the buff is tied to.

New Battlefield Objective Defense Bonus (T2+):

If your realm already controls most Battlefield Objectives, you can also defend a Battlefield Objective to gain the same stacking buff. To do so, a player must guard and maintain control of the BO for 3 minutes. Upon entering a controlled BO, you will see a new "Securing Battlefield" buff counting down, after which it will transition into the appropriate BO buff. The intent with this is to also create targets on Objectives for the enemy team to fight, so keep your eyes peeled if protecting one!

Keeps

Instant RvR flagging near posterns: With this patch we're happy to finally address a key complaint from the RvR community over the last few years: players being able to take entire warbands into keep posterns without being flagged. Now, when you are in an RvR lake and within 200 Feet of a postern door, you will immediately become flagged for RvR, allowing sieging warbands to properly block these posterns.

Improvements to stop postern blocks: This patch also adds a new Quality of Life update to prevent players from blocking postern doors (primarily inner doors) with Siege Weapons or Banners. Siege Weapons placed near a postern door will warn the player towing that it must be moved to avoid being destroyed. A second warning will appear after 15 seconds, and after 30 seconds the weapon will be destroyed. Banners follow the same rules, and share their warnings with the banner owner.

Rout the Weak! After a successful keep defense, the keep lord and all other inner keep NPCs will receive a "Rout the Weak" buff which significantly increases their damage over the next 10 minutes. This prevents attackers who are still inside the inner keep after the doors close from being able to stay inside the lord room and repeatedly kill players who respawn there.

- Claiming keeps now costs 15 gold up front.

- Lowered cost of Vault keeper to 15 silver.

- Lowered cost of Banker to 15 silver.

- Several Keep Lords that were Champions are now back to being Heroes.

- Using a siege weapon will now automatically flag you for RvR.

- The delay between using keep doors / posterns was raised from 500ms to 1500ms. This fixes an issue where players with a higher ping would sometimes pop back out after spam clicking the door and makes popping out slightly riskier.

Other

AAO buff now properly shows its increase to drop chance: This was was always there (5% increased drop chance for every 20% AAO), but did not show properly before. Now it does!

- Increased the base XP and renown of a player kill by 100% to compensate for the removal of Field of Glory.

General

- Mail server performance and reliability should be improved.

- Many general performance optimizations have been made in an attempt to reduce server lag (delayed ability casting etc.) during large RvR fights. These involved significant changes to ability and object handling code, so please report any bugs with abilities not working correctly or objects / players / NPCs not appearing / disappearing or respawning correctly, etc.

- The amount of data sent during login has been reduced, which should hopefully reduce the chances of failing to load and getting kicked back to character select after clicking Play.

General Changes and Fixes

Potions and Liniments (including Pies and Stews) will now stack with abilities.

Resistances of the Liniment of the Inexorable Aegis (and similar Stew/Pie) reduced from 360 and 180.

Values of Armor potions have been reduced by 40%.

The item proc Bracing has been replaced by Barricade. The Armor values of Barricade have been adjusted and the proc chance is increased from 5% to 10%.

With the changes described above, Armor buffs have changed from being rather obsolete to become crucial. Because of this, as well as to keep the Armor values in check, several armor buffs have been changed, as can be seen in the changes for indiviual classes below.

  • To Victory - Reworked to: You order your group to steady themselves, increasing armor by 396 for all groupmates within 100 feet.
  • Perseverance - Armor value reduced from 990 to 594.

  • Burn Salve - Reworked to: Enchantment. 35 AP. 100 ft range. Instant. 10s CD. - You distribute burn salve to a single group member, increasing their Resistances by 360 for 60 minutes.

  • Electromagnet target selection now skips immune targets, matching the behavior of other AOE pulls.

Highlights

[23510] - Cash On Delivery mail that was not collected by the recipient will now be properly returned again. This includes all COD mail that has been sitting unreturned over the last several years, so check your mailbox - there might be a long-forgotten surprise waiting for you!

Others

[24465] - Keep lords should now properly only enrage when they are pulled away, not when their target is on stairs or elsewhere.
[24172] - Fixed an issue where kills and lock of fortress would give influence to a random place. Currently there is no influence for fortresses.
[24432] - Daemonvines adds in the Bramble Witch Beastlord lair now properly despawn.
[24441] - Keeps will now properly spawn the contested flag in the lord room after capture.
[24365] - Using Skaven Tunnels in certain zones will no longer cause you to drop supplies.

[24405] - VFX of Phoenix's Rejuvenation no longer shows on friendly target out of group.
[24401] - When using an ability of SM/BO that leads to 2nd stance, the time you go back to 1st stance is reduced significantly. Relevant for tactics such as Perfect Defenses.
[24391] - Drop That! no longer disarms when the attack is defended. Ranged Squigs will now do a dodge instead of parry check.

- Goretusk Belts from the Lair of Goretusk have had their sell prices fixed, and they are now universal, not class specific.
- The Tormenting Herald's appearance has been fixed. Sorry Khorne fans.
- Fixed an issue that could leave stale icons on the map.
- Scenarios associated with a Live Event will no longer close if they were also used in a weekend scenario that ended.
- Fixed an issue that could cause keeps to immediately unclaim if not enough players were online to support the claim.

RvR flagging change is long, long overdue. As to the other RvR changes, we will see how it goes and how it affects the lakes.

Congratulations Return of Reckoning for making a really meaningful overhaul on the Battleobjectives. Took you four years, but genuinely well done for getting there eventually!

I hope it will keep getting tweeked and kept in check over time to suppor the backbone of RoR - RvR, for all sizes and scaled pvp encounters.

Getting a 8/10 and a lollipop and MTG or Pokemon Card. Good job!

Keep claim costs need to be increased tho'!!! 15g? .... yeah ..... cool...... make it 50. and add the benefits for it.
Give us a "reason" to spend gold. outside of the normal RoR business environment.

Guilds should feel proud about using it and "spending/wasting" the money, win or loss.
