This is because these classes don't need to stack weaponskill and do more damage regardless. This let's them abuse regen/ toughness/ anti crit stacking to be more tanky than physical classes.

Magic dmg > physical

It's why classes like witchhunter are total garbage solo right now because they are pidgeonholed into a glass cannon spec that can't beat any of the above.

The game needs to shift some stuff around to break up this meta.

actually in ranked scenarios and killboards I see plenty choppas around which are mostly phys damage dealer
in your list you forgot engineer too that, while sniper is mostly physical, the grenadier/tinkerer path are not phys damage mostly and can surprisingly work well in solo.
plus WE OP? ok... then I guess the last 1+year of topic concerning WE are all false I assume?

Your title says smallscale, yet you talk about solo...

It's almost like the game isn't primarily a solo game and is instead a group based one...
wow...
I know, truly mindboggling revelations here.

I would add Sm,Squig Herder, WH, Dps Dok and Even Engi to the list in 1vx. You might want to check Engis and Squig Herders that are Auto Attack Haste Spec, Consistently in 1v1 kill AA dmg which is entirely ranged 30-40% of whole dmg is Auto Attack.

Thats Why Ws + Auto Attacks Easily Cover for the physical dmg if specced for it.

The most dusgusting solo specs are usually defence oriented - and that means that the classes which can ignore armor or don't care about it (magic) are having better chances in fight - because their damage relies on 1 stat only so they can invest more into their survivability. Thus, those classes have a lesser amount of bad matchups.

That's quite crazy actually. One day i was running around and testing some stuff on my RP, and i got bursted a few times by a ranged squig herders. I checked the killboard for the damage recap and i was amazed to see auto attacks counting for as high as 45% of the damage in those few gcd's i was killed. And people talk about skill in this game, when u can have half of ur damage coming simply from clicking on the target :D

Smallscale is not solo play and the game should never be balanced around solo play

This Defensive Regen passive Bs meta has been a thing only after Gcd change, in 10sec insta 8skills vs 6 skills now. Thats 25% less intsant skills and those who have over 1.5s (new Gcd) Cast times benefit from this alot passively and might not notice first, but all the melees did when change happened. 035-04s slower per Gcd.im Still not used to new one.

RoR has imo always been too Defensive oriented, Removed 50% Heal debuffs, Killed Dps Dok that all destro Wbs had at least 1 one of for 50% HD. and for 10% hp to 100% Health in 1sec burst heals to himself or target from 150ft away while 50% heal debuffing 5 enemies around him as well, Devour Essence. Added aoe dmg and aoe cap and simplified the gameplay. Made Guard Mechanic work to have undefendable skills, very bad. 9cap and no morale dmg is needed so kills happen.

And defense/heals can happen in RvR because one grp heal is for 6 people. 8tanks in 1 wb, and 9 cap meaning that positioning and CC mattered, tanks soaked the dmg with the guardees and healers/ranged were away enough. 9sec stagger with 9 cap meant that one party could wipe 2/3 of the Wb during that 9s if they were good, Now nothing like that is possible. And then 1/3 ressed the dead and thats the cycle :D

Anyway Procs like Boost V has been removed from rr38 inf items, all tanks had this 2h inf wpn with Boost V. All tanks had epic quest option 10% taunt target this is gone from wpns as well. All classes deseve crit procs because crit dmg is the only thing thats not set in stone without modifiers 35-55% dmg/heal increase in crit.

Smallscale might be 1v1 or it might be 4v4 or 6v6. It's just roaming the lakes for my money and loads of players like it instead of joining a 24man wb

Even by your own logic you forgot sm for some strange reason.

Also, WE isn't good currently in no shape of form. Their theoretical magical dmg, Witchbrew, currently barely does any dmg. Their other good finisher, RA, which is actually physical dmg, was however nerfed 3 times (nerf on finisher itself, nerf on BE tactic % armor pen, 1.5 gcd change meaning BE is only good for 2 attacks after finisher)?

Now as for actual good classes, once again for some strange reason you forgot wl, sw, and ibs. All of which are currently roaming very successfully, and all of which do a physical dmg. So I guess you are just making things up, just so they fit your made up logic?

Magic dmg > physical
Currently the most tanky solo roamer is ib, physical dmg only. So yes, you are just making stuff up.

You do aware that currently one of wh's most popular specs is Abso spam, and half of it's dmg is spirit (Bullets)- that is what whs like Xzodiale are roaming with? Not to mention that the spec also provides healing that all classes besides am/sham in your list can only dream of? Or did some sham hit you with mushrooms too hard, and you are still recovering?
