Power to the Pugs

Suggestion: Create a new bolster system for open pug-bands. This could manifest in number of ways but my suggestion is to create BIS class templates for Group 1 of open pug-bands. Limited to 1 per zone, 2/2/2, as well as pseudo-control over the rest of the pug-band to avoid too much player manipulation.

Purpose: Provide a baseline strength to each faction in the lakes.

Pug-bands are the lifeblood for new players in the lakes. The problem is, they require a base level of power to function. Aside from a few diehard pug-leaders, most players(especially leaders) get renown and find a home elsewhere. It would also be very beneficial to give non veteran/geared players a chance to lead in the lakes.

This idea could be implemented in a number of ways not just limited to what has been stated. It would also make use of a number of systems already in place in different areas of the game.

How do you identify what is a "pug-band"? What if two people want to form a "pug-band" - which one wins?

Open warband. First warband to have that box checked for 5 or so minutes potentially without kicks. After that its based on the time the leader has had the warband in the zone.

This system could potentially be manipulated, but it would also promote forming up in multiple zones. If an organized group formed and opened their warband up after the fact, they would be tied to the zone or forfeit it.

An organised warband can form their warband, fill it, and then make it "open". Or the can start the warband, make it open and then fill it immediately with their people and kick others who might slip in. If those organised players were first then they now have a free BIS party in there.

They will be limited to the zone at least. Kicks could mean no bolster, and other limitations could be put in place. Total population could be a factor to determine if the bolster is even active. It would be a boon during low pop time zones.

At worst it could provide 1 warband an advantage and the other faction a group to rally around.

If it was a real issue, it would also be fairly easy for a GM to remove the bolster from a warband and identify an exploiting group. Killboard data on these pug-bands would be telling.

I would be happy with limiting what AB does to wbs. let it reorganize the wb as 222 but stop its auto kick settings. I cant stand AB.

You can change AB to what ever you want if you customize it. However that is not relevant to this thread.

Not AB users being able to change AB settings, i want the addon to be changed. Sure it can be relevant to pugs, pugs for some reason use AB and destroy pug play.
