Suggestion for the state of the realm player count info.
Make the interval of player counts smaller, and more closely aligned with ORvR patterns.
Instead of the intervals being: 0-9, 10-24, 25-99, 100-199, 200+
The intervals should be more: 0-6, 7-25, 25-72, 73-144, 144+
This is still 5 intervals, but interval 3 is not a 300% increase over interval 2, gives better information to players to actual counts, without providing too specific of information. This also goes to Group / Warband / multiple warbands / blobs / OMG WAR.
Additionally, if the timer on the update for the AAO could be decreased, it would also be a nice quality of life, 15 minutes is a long time in between.

Re: State of the Realm intervals
I dont disagree with you. But I think the AAO updater maybe needs to be long in the case of a keep siege. Defenders are wiped and disband, if lordkill takes longer than the AAO update the beaten defenders can then not reenter the lake and give the keeplord tick a bigger penalty from Anti-aao buff being higher.
but as for the intervals i fully agree.

That makes sense, it should be trivial to check if the keep lord is engaged to increase the delay. Should be being operative word there, I don't know the code basewonshot wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 4:51 am

Back in the day SoR had shown exact number of each side in the zone, so its not a technical problem- it was intentionally changed to show the current estimated numbers, since knowing exact number of people present in the zone by a click of a button has made rvr even more dead than it currently is.

I agree, exact numbers would be bad! That's why it's not what I suggested.Zxul wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 6:06 pmNo.ShadowWar wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 2:52 am Suggestion for the state of the realm player count info.

Re: State of the Realm intervals
You suggested moving the intervals closer to exact numbers, which is still bad- there is a reason as I said why exact numbers were removed.ShadowWar wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 8:32 pmI agree, exact numbers would be bad! Agreed. It's understandable why giving specific numbers would be detrimental, however the number brackets given now are insufficient. The higher the number goes, the more it becomes so vague as to be almost useless. Example: 100-199. A variance of over four warbands? That's crazy!
AAO, even when it updates on time, takes entirely too long. While the example can be made that if a side with lesser numbers and AAO defending a keep can lose the AAO as attackers leave, an opposing example can be made. A warband is fighting in a zone/pairing against an enemy warband with neither side having AAO, and another one or two enemy warbands from another zone/pairing comes in and joins the fight. Now the first warband is fighting two to three times their numbers, but there's no AAO for them. With AAO already being the only incentive (and a weak one at that, considering the bonus percentage does nothing if you can't stay alive long enough to collect it) to stay and potentially be farmed, the first warband starts to dissolve.
There's no reason why AAO can't be faster, but switch to a delayed timer for keeps/forts.
Better SoR zone population brackets, faster AAO updates, and something to add to AAO (increased crests/expedition resources/coin? random chance for white through blue level bags to drop? chance/increased chance for good/unique items to drop, like the Doomday ring?), would go a long way.

Re: State of the Realm intervals
All numbers are exact in the way you are using the term, the numbers I chose are exact numbers in their own right by that measure. They are individually discrete, so I'll need a better explanation to sway me from my stance. I think what you're trying to say is precise numbers (or maybe, directly proportional). The suggestions I made are to move them to more relevant ranges to people playing the game.
Further more the interval differentials are varied wildly on a percentage gap. So the argument being made underneath the suggestion is that the intervals are not well suited to what they are meant to do: provide a scaling indication of the zone populations.

I totally agree with the timer being decreased, it should be real time, but i'll take 1-2 min
