For new players, how to install addons?. Download 7zip, unzip your addon to a folder and then drag that to your installation folder, i.e:
Code: Select all
C:\ReturnofReckoning\Interface\AddOns

Great addon that improves layout and come with the bottom bar as shown in picture.

The following steps are very important to make this work correctly:
One thing I noticed is that some of the already included addons with VinylUI are outdated with problems and need to be repaced with newer ones:Caffeine wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2015 8:03 pmNice and simple.
- Navigate to your game installation folder. Usually it's something like:
Code: Select all
C:\Program Files (x86)\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning
- Backup your Interface and user folders. Use these to restore your settings and addon setup if something goes wrong or you don't like the UI.
- In your game folder delete Interface, user and cache folders.
- Extract VinyUI518.zip in to the game folder.
- [ IMPORTANT ] Navigate to:
Here you will see presets for different factions and classes. Pick a layout you want, copy the folder and then rename it to what your respective character is called.Code: Select all
Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning/user/settings/Martyrs Square
For example, if my zealot is called Vermont I make a copy of - destruction_HEALER_character_name and rename it to Vermont.
Note that character names always start with a capital letter.
- Once you log on to a character for the first time after installing the UI pack you might have to run a /reload command for all settings to load properly.
Delete addons (Enemy, Shinies, Buffhead, Swiftassist, WSCT, TidyRoll, Amethyst, tether) in both
Code: Select all
C:\ReturnofReckoning\Interface\AddOns
Code: Select all
C:\ReturnofReckoning\/user/settings/Martyrs Square
Then download these following addons:
A. Enemy

B. Shinies

C. Buffhead

D. Swiftassist

E. WSCT

and put them in:
Code: Select all
C:\ReturnofReckoning\Interface\AddOns

In "Customize Peformance", change resolutions for windowed and fullscreen to your monitor.
If your on Windows 11, right click Desktop and click on "Display settings" to find out yours.
Also, enable overhead names in Targeting:

Some info regarding SwiftAssist addon:
2X macros for this addon will be created for you automatically. SetSwiftAssist and SwiftAssist, drag these on an action bar and put hotkey them (for example, SetSwiftAssist to Ctrl+A and SwiftAssist to Shift+A), use SetSwiftAssist to mark the friendly target (called the "Assist")that you want to know what enemy that they are targeting and then use SwiftAssist to automatically load the Assist's target on the screen.
Also use /swift set wb, or /swiftset sc, or /swift set wb, to announce in chat channel who you are assisting if you want.
Some extra info regarding Pure addon:
It will not show your own unit frame by default, to restore it, do a /pure
Go to "Player" and set both "Unit Frame Alpha" and "Unit Frame Font Alpha" to max.

To change your UI, hit [ESC] and click "User Settings" then do this:

I recommend changing rvmods to remove effigy for friendly and enemy targets, and enabling "Lines" for both friendly and enemy targets.

Do a /rvmod
To enable crosshairs when selecting an enemy or friendly target.

Go to "Targets / Frames"
Edit both and go to "Frame" and enable "Lines" to allow crosshairs when targeting an enemy or friendly.
If you dont like the green or red bar appearing above targets, you can remove that (I do) by:
Go to "EfficyConfigGUI"
Delete both.
Also on bottom bar, click on the time and you can change it from default military time to AM/PM.

This includes texturedubttons addon, so I would do a /tb and change these settings if your an Archmage, Shaman, or Black Ork so you can retain the unique Warhammer Online UI effects for action bar abilities:

2. Sildur's ENHANCED War Shaders v6.0

Greatly improves graphics of the game.
I recommend using OpenGL, some people were having issues with dx11/12 and vulkan.
Credit: SildurSildur wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2014 5:23 pm What is Sildur's Enhanced Warhammer?
A collection of different renderers allowing the game to be run in: DX11, DX12, OpenGL and Vulkan mode.
Using reshade to improve the overall visuals without overdoing anything, adding Antialiasing (CMAA2 or MSAA), Ambient Occlusion (MXAO, DX11 and OpenGL only), Color adjustments and Image sharpening.
Screenshots:
https://imgur.com/gallery/VaoZVKI
The following steps are very important to make this work correctly:
Installation:
1. Download Sildur's Enhanced Warhammer V6.0 and unzip it.
2. Now pick the renderer you want to use. DX11 and OpenGL support the depth buffer for effects like ambient occlusion. DX12 and Vulkan support improved antialiasing using MSAA, effects like AO that cause UI issues are not working, disabled.
3. Go into the respective renderer folder and copy it's content to your warhammer folder, next to the launcher and .exe files.
4. Use "Sildurs-Launcher.bat" to launch the RoRLauncher and play the game, that's it! (Vulkan does not use it, see extra steps below)
Extra steps for Vulkan:
1. After copying it's content to you warhammer folder run "ReShade_Setup_5.6.0.exe"
2. Browse and select your WAR or WAR-64.exe file.
3. Click next -> vulkan -> next, modify -> profile should be listed at the bottom, press next again -> skip shaders -> finish.
4. That's it, launch the game like you usually would, reshade should now hook vulkan.
Recommended:
For depth buffer access OpenGL might run better with less glitches.
For performance, 8xMSAA and 16xAnisotropic-filtering Vulkan might run better than DX12 with less glitches.
If using vulkan make sure to update your gpu drivers and vulkan runtimes. "latest runtime/zip -> download latest runtime"
Hotkeys:
"shift+F11" toggles reshade
"shift+F10" toggles MXAO (DX11 and OpenGL only)
Another good idea to help improve performance:
ROR executables are by default limited to VRAM to 2gb, you can improve performance by increasing this to 4gb.
Download this patcher:
https://ntcore.com/4gb-patch/
and put it in
Code: Select all
C:\ReturnofReckoning

Second good idea to help improve performance:
Make a macro to stop combat logging, in heavy fights this can help fps.

Put this text in it and activate it every time you log in (it will reset).
I recommend making a .bat file on your desktop that you can click on after you close WAR, it cleans the cache which can help prevent future crashes./script CombatLogger.off()

On Windows 11, open notepad, copy the following and paste it in:
save filename like:rmdir /s /q cache
del WAR-64.dxvk-cache
del WAR_d3d9.log
EndROR.bat
done.

Stat comparison of gear when hovering your mouse over its tooltip.

6. MapMonster + WARCommander + minimapmonster

You need both addons for them to work, I also recommend minimonstermap so you can view it in your minimap.
What this does is it gives a small window which you can use to select an enemy target and clickon the little explosion icon to announce in the local chat channel that you've spotted an enemey, the bigger explosion icon is for a group, and the red RVR icon is for a warband. Coordinates are included. Green skull is to announce you need a rez, etc.

12. targetinforing

VERY useful for rdps and healers. Shows you range of distance to your target, useful to gauge whether you can use an ability if your within a particular range radius.

13. Moosiemods

Better custom modded UI for party/warband UI for Enemy addon than original, easily see warband member in compact window and thir health percentages.
For Shaman:Download the ONE you need. If you're a healer, download the one with your class.... otherwise, download the generic one (the first one). The only difference is in the specific-healer ones, I enabled THEIR class, and disabled the other healer classes to improve performance on server-side checking. (Meaning you don't need enemy doing "checks" on conditions that will never be true)
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Exit Game (you must be out of game)
2. Navigate to ~Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning/user/settings/Martyrs Square/<username>/<profilename>
3. Rename your existing "Enemy" directory to "Enemy.old" (or whatever) - IF you want to save your old enemy settings.
4. Unzip my zip, which will make a NEW "Enemy" folder for you.
5. Launch game, Profit. Win.
6. If the Enemy frames are TOO BIG for you (it's set to 1.2, which is large)... right-click the Enemy anchor in the game, go to "Configuration" then "Unit Frames" and look for "LAYER: BACKGROUND and change SCALE from 1.2 to 0.9 (or whatever). Each 1/10th decimal is a pretty big difference.
WHAT IT DOES:
1. Shows who's guarding who in your group, type of guard, using colors and such. If you're a tank, you can see whom you are guarding specifically.
2. Healers see heal dots and class buffs for all their stuff
3. Leader gets a star on themselves if party lead (6-man) and when in Warbands you can see WB leader
4. Shows a big green "Dot" on a person when they're dead, but a rez has been cast on them by someone.
5. Improved Coloring, Range Indicators, Improved Alignment, Improved Group Icons (which should be the ONLY group icons you use - the other mod actually called "Group Icons" is a lag-monster.
6. It's set to where you're ALWAYS in the top group (it auto re-arranges) AND it sorts by TANKS-DPS-HEALERS in that order.

If your having trouble opening the links, copy the link URL and paste it in a new browser tab to download it.
Also, you can enable effects here, such as Dispellables, etc:

Scroll down to "Visual Parts" and enable HP and Distance. These are very useful if a player is nearby and what everyone's health percentage is in a group or warband.
Also scroll back to the top and enable hide when solo.
Since this addon will reset your Enemy settings, I also advise to turn off Group icons for other groups:
