BW vs Sorc

Finished looking over all the abilities, tactics, and masteries for both classes and I have a hard time finding how sorc can compete with BW.

At 21 BW will have access to their 50% incoming heal debuff, something sorc never has access too. And that whole tree is amazing, with a 3 second RKD that again sorc doesn't get, and the channeled slow that deals damage.

It seems in general BW has acess to much more utility, while still dealing similar damage to sorc.

Can anyone school me on these classes in terms how strong they will be at lvl 25 and endgame at 40?

Because at 40 with 100% combustion/dark energy you will generally kill a soft target in a single rotation on either bw or sorc.

The other abilities you listed have little value when the 5 second burst rotation both classes have spike for 15k? I forget now the exact amount of health you could chop off someone with it now. I just remember that being the best way to play them after the rof/ pos change

Well most Order classes are better than their Destro mirrors, but only for a while. Destro get most utilities 4 levels behind their Order mirror - SW RKD (none for SH), IB KD, BW RKD (none for Sorc), heal debuffs (kinda balance overal on T2), punts/superpunts, nice tactics - Destro gets it too (mostly) but at slower pace. If we have artifical lvl cap we have to deal with slight unbalance.

But I dont mind, Order always been an "easy mode" while Destro is a "hard mode". (T4 is ofc different,but there are still some issues with BW ability to kite in comparsion to Sorc (but Sorc is better at bomb)).

Yes, I did a search 1st and didn't find a similar thread so why not? I really just want to know how the classes compare, not just QQing.

So far the answers have been pretty weak "you don't need utility when you can kill something in 5 seconds :^))))))" and "Destro is hardmode, Order is ez mode"

Why is this? Is it because fiery blast deals ele, while shattered shadows is spirit?

All game developpers look for selling points for their games; all except Mythic devs who though having a massive suscription killer in their game was a good idea.

It's a fair point though. Power creep pushes TTK against most characters down into the floor and emphasises damage as the most valuable aspect of the game.

Killing someone in 5 seconds might work against unorganized pugs, but when you are playing against a good team or decent enough pugs I don't think you are going to be able to kill something in 5 seconds if it is receiving heals, guard, or if you are detaunted, unless you happen to have really good RNG with crits and other factors coming into play.

If either of those classes really picked people off so fast whats the point of playing any other DPS?

I understand BW is the more kitey and "defensive"? mirror, but that random 50% incoming heal debuff in that tree is just weird and really makes taking someone down much easier when you are playing against a good group. Sure you could form a team comp that that other classes doing that job, but aside from the heal debuff auras those debuffs can be cleansed? The more you have the better.

And I don't think anyone is going to complain about having another 3 sec kd in their team comp.

The only "utility" a sorc can pick up in their tree is the lifetap DoT, and I have no idea how much survivablity that is going to add? Aside from that sorc has a 2 sec cast disarm... while all the BW's stuff like RKD and incoming heal debuff are insta cast abilities.
