Regarding NPC Gear for roleplay

This is just a suggestion, not a "please implement"

I was just thinking a bit about roleplay this morning after seeing the beret that they knights use in the new Total War trailer:

I know that some NPC has a beret like this and I was just thinking that it would be cool to make gear like this available later when we get alternate apearance working. Cause as long as the NPC's can wear it, there should be a model that we can use right ? :)

i think there should be a npc vendor who sells cosmetic gear with no stats for gold. could be a good gold sink too!

later in some years, i think there could be crafters creating these cosmetic items even. ^^

After watching the trailer I thought the same thing.

If someone wants to build a double handed Knights of the Blazing Sun Guild, named the Carrobourg Greatswords these Landsknecht hats would be gold. :)

In the armory thread there was a zip file with all the icons which relates to gear from the game.
There were also all the Hammerers Dwarf Armours, also used by npcs throughout the game.
also in an earlier thread the devs said they could think of introducing cloth vendors.

But as said, that is a thing of lower priority. Also the "appearance" function doesn't work a the moment.

I've always wanted to be able to use NPC gear to RP. Even if it doens't have any stat, it doesn't matter, it's just for Roleplay purposes.

Since RoR has a pretty numerous and healthy RP community (i'm looking at you, Bitterstoners!...on Destro the Orks) NPC gear would make a perfect addition to the game.

But there are things more important than appeareance, they need to fix all the main bugs etc before focusing on "cosmetic" additions

Exactly cause when devs have time (if) to make looks gear then we will prolly be able to use it as alternate apperance which would be rocking awesome.

You could do this yourselves and have it added to the database later. Just use a range which is not used for existing items in the game.

True, I'll have a look at it and put up a dev server then see if I can get into it. I just found it confusing to lookup items from tables when I last did it.

This is possible. Dana and I spoke at length about it. The models are there but it might be handy to make appearance items out of them without stats so the setting remains the same

That's great news to hear. I'll try to look into the DB
