Mini-me Collection - #5 Shaman

I've been a GW fan for over 30 years. Before WH40K was even around and Warhammer came in a box of 3 magazines. I've been painting and collecting GW miniatures over that time.
WAR was my first MMO. Before that, I thought it was ridiculous idea to pay for a game and then keep paying for it monthly.
But I loved the Warhammer world and read up on all the classes and fell in love with the Witch Hunter before the game was released in 2008. The rest is history, blah blah blah...

One thing I've always wanted to do was paint up a miniature for every class in the game. I started collecting some of the models years ago, but only since I got back into playing WAR with the great folks of RoR have I seriously started painting these miniatures up.

Here's the current collection:

I've got models ready to go for SW, Chosen, BG, Choppa, SM and a custom built Magus +disc +pink horror. I might do the Magus next.
  • Warrior Priest - Done
  • Witch Hunter - Waiting to paint
  • KotBS - Waiting to paint
  • Bright Wizard - Waiting to paint
  • Slayer - Miniature ordered
  • Iron Breaker - Waiting to paint
  • Rune Priest - Miniature ordered
  • Engineer - No Miniature yet
  • Shadow Warrior - Waiting to paint
  • Archmage - No Miniature yet
  • Swordmaster - Done
  • White Lion + Lion - Waiting to paint
  • Chosen - Done
  • Zealot - No frickin' idea
  • Marauder - Miniature ordered
  • Magus - Waiting to paint
  • Squig Herder + squig - No Miniature yet
  • Choppa - Waiting to paint
  • Shaman - Done
  • Shaman - Miniature ordered
  • Black Orc - No Miniature yet
  • Witch Elf - Done
  • DoK - Miniature ordered
  • Black Guard - Waiting to paint
  • Sorceror - Waiting to paint
p.s. The hardest miniature to find is for one to look the zealot. GW do not make one and I'm still looking to find a model from any other manufacturer. So if anyone knows of a good 28mm miniature that looks like a zealot, please let me know.

p.p.s Also the Engineers turret, no idea where to find, or make, one of them.

Great stuff, I'm looking forward to your next miniatures. :)

@Engineer Turrets: They are an inveention of war. So you will have to build your own.

@Engineer: Would love to see a Batrima Miniautre. :)

@Zealot: Maybe some necromancer from the new Zombicide Black Plague will suffice. I have backed them on kickstarter and will see if some of them can be used.

Glorian, is the guy on the right the one you mean to use as a Zealot?

Image

He's not a bad start, since he's holding a skull in his left hand. I'd need to replace the staff in his right for a dagger, and try and do a head swap too. It's the only option so far.

p.s. Yeah those female dwarves don't have the cleavage to match Bartrima's. ;)

I'll do each miniature as a separate post.

#1 Warrior Priest

So... starting with #1 of #24, say hello to the Warrior Priest:

Image

As I suffer severely with alt-itis, the Warrior Priest was my 4th character I loved. I had a female WP who I got to RR60+ in live. I played her more in the support healer role, so book and hammer, and rarely played the 2-hander. Looking for a suitable model for my alt was impossible. From what I've read in books and lore, women aren't really allowed to be WPs. But this model has the best look out of all of GW's Warrior Priest range. He really was a fantastic model to paint and looks awesome, especially with the twin-tailed comet branding to his forehead.

#2 Chosen

I've always wanted to paint GW the chaos warrior miniature as the Chosen I used to play on live. I only had him levelled up to R33, so I think this is Conqueror gear:

So here he is:

Close enough, and I like the skin colour of his cloak.

Might do the WH next... or Magus... or SM...

Re: Mini-me Collection - #3 Witch Elf

Witch Elf is #3

There's a lot of alternatives for this model, but in the end I stuck with GW's fantastic model. I actually cut her off the scenery piece and glued her back on 90° rotated to the right, otherwise she was stood straight up and looked like she was leaping backwards.
I had a bottle of Vallejo's metallic blue paint I thought I'd use for the bikini armour. Different to the usual red armour most early witch elves wear.

I even painted red blusher on her cheeks, but the camera washed it out in the photo. Not the best photo of her, but I'm sick of trying to take a decent image.

Next up either the WH or Shammy... or SM... I see where the mood takes me.

#4 done - Swordmaster

Image

A nice and easy model to paint. In the game, I think the SM is the only tank that looks good two-hander. I only played one on live to R20, and those stances were complicated to remember when you play multiple alts.

So now the WP has guard-bot. I really want to do the shammy next.
