WE/WH self punt NA ping?

Recently made a WE, been playing this server for a very long time with the same ping around 150ish its been probably 2 years+ since ive played WH but I don't remember the self punt being this unresponsive. It feels like there is a weird delay on the skill, on top of absolutely no melee leeway being added to it like my other skills, and half the time it just sends me in seemingly random directions. Anyone else outside of the EU experiencing this? I mean otherwise even with 150ping the class feels fine to play its just this one skill that is borderline unusable for me.

Edit: did some testing and it seems like the skill doesn't actually trigger until the animation finishes so there is almost an entire gcd delay which is really awful for a skill that is supposed to be a disengage? It was a quick a sloppy job on mobs in IC so I could be wrong but this has been bothering me for weeks, and it's weird because as soon as you hit say your KD it fires immediately why would the self punt wait for the entire animation to finish?
