Been playing 3 months. Why is RoR launcher flagging as Trojan as of today?

I've been playing RoR for a while now. Just now my Malwarebytes flagged RoR launcher with a Trojan. I've never had a false flag with Malwarebytes.

What's this about?

It’s a false flag. Sometimes updates flag anti virus now that patcher works. Don’t worry about it.

Pay a lot of money to be whitelisted is usually the game they like to play. Consumer grade Antivirus products are a fear cartel at best. Windows Defender is more than enough on Windows 10, and unless you're really digging around the underbelly of the internet it's unlikely you're gonna catch something that an antivirus would properly flag anyway.

If you're concerned about security, change your password on everything you log onto every 30 days and don't keep the same one. Also, 2FA and authenticators are the future of security best practice.

Had the same issue with Avast anti-virus some days ago, while it was working fine before. Setting an exception didn't work either. Tried AVG anti-virus, noticed it is the exact same software with different name.
Now I changed to Avira anti-virus and the exception is working.

Just get the windows defender, it’s enough.

It's weakness is still the detection of new unknown malware compared to other anti-virus software. It's still good for a build in solution and had huge progress in the last years.

Every time we do a launcher update I usually email all the major AV companies to get them to manually whitelist the application.

The last launcher update was November last year. So weird that your AV picks it up now. Viewing the properties of the launcher shows you some information.

Got some link about that? Just curious and maybe I can learn something new.

Only read about it on some german site from early 2019.

According to this extensive test it gives too many false positives but as experienced user you can usually judge whether something is fishy or not. :)

Avira has good results in this test but usually the free version has a lot adv popups but I use a tool to kill all adv popup the second they start.
