[shaman] few words about the current state of the class

does anyone else wish that the whole idea of shamans hybrid mechanic would get abandoned completely? for years many people have tried different things to make it work and it always ended up being either too strong or too weak. personally im just not a big fan of hybrids, it might sound boring but I simply wish shaman's healing potential would be increased to that of a dok or zealot, without all that dps/dps healing bollocks. the class looks great, the fluff is also great but in the end ure worse than zealot in almost every case other than the puddle (inb4 overnerfed morale bump) and any proposal for buffing shamans healing ends up with the "muh op racials" rebuttal.

im curious about the players who actually main the class - are you guys happy with the current state of affairs? would you rather become fully fledged "healtards" or perhaps continue this search of perfect balance between the healing and dpsing?

Fully agree with OP. Played shaman as main all live and have it as main on ror when i play destro (currently playing am and wl on order). Never liked the hybrid stuff. Actually took a break during the .ab ex days as I hated the playstyle. Just let me healbot I say!

I can't say I understand the sentiment. Shaman with heal spec are already heal bots, pretty much like every other healer. They were heal bots all the time, even when they had working but overperforming lifetaps.
Dying is no option.

I think the OP want to solve any healing related issues with the class by modifying the ”healer role” and not life-tap or hybrid role. In essence, formally abandon the concept of a hybrid class in theory. On live this was the case in practice but on ror the sentiment so far seems to be to ”fix the mechanic” and everything will be rainbows and unicorns.
