If it should be allowed or not is debatable but not up to either of us.
When they prohibit it i am fine with it.
Personally i think it does not much harm at this point and is rather convenient.
Economy is in a bad shape anyway as there are not enough gold sinks, most people are self-sufficient at this point and PvE gives access to some of the best crafting goods.

You played for a while on one side and lost interest / lost teammates due to IRL issues /etc.
You want to play other side for some reasons. So you wish to trade your gold for buying stuff on new side instead of grinding.

Why it's so hard to get.

It's allowed and even some GM is able to be as middle-man for such trades to prevent scum.

It's funny how some people view this game. It's a game it's not real life.

If you were playing a basketball would you want to a game to be 8v2 because some people only plays skins. If you were playing a board game would you always play the same team even if it meant the game was wildly uneven?

There is nothing wrong with people switching factions or playing both. If it's done in a way to try to even things out I even support it.

No gold actually changes from faction to faction with this type of transaction. In fact it helps both factions since that gold is more likely to be used by people who are active on those factions.

In a real war we can hang or shoot traitors. Loyalty actually matters there. In a game where the goal of everyone is to enjoy themselves that kind of mentality is ridiculous.
