Zealot healer questions

Anyone able to give me some input on zealot as a healer?

I have played RP a lot in years past and I have a 35 on this server from over a year ago so I know how they play, but how is a zealot in comparison?

I really like how mobile the RP is and his protection runes as well as heals, I had a blast keeping people up as well as myself.

How well does a zealot heal in comparison to a RP?

Also is Zealot the better pure healers on Destro over shaman? I never really played Destro much so not sure how classes are on this side.

Runepriest Heals > Zealot Heals.

Primary reason being that the Runepriest's AP Rune of Fury provides greater AP utility/bolster to all classes as opposed to the Zealot's AP Ritual of Innervation, which activates on attack and not on ability activation (which inherently benefits melee compositions over caster/range compositions).

As a Zealot I am "REQUIRED" to utilize Restorative Burst Tactic to prevent AP starvation. As it stands right now Zealots are still fantastic and perhaps even mandatory for most groupings in spite of the fact that Shamans/AMs have recently gotten a super nice boost in single target healing (lifetaps scale off willpower now) and group utility (with group cleanse tactic).

Understand however that based on pure "healing numbers" alone Shamans/AM and DoK/WP will out heal you in most scenarios (if they know how to play their class and you are healing as well).

Your direct heal bubbles (and +25 heal boost) will prevent many crits on targets and increase survivability on all classes substantially.

Do keep in mind that the Lifetaps on Shamans/AMs have no line of sight requirement on your heal target and heal on AVERAGE for 900-1500 health (if not more). Someone who plays AM/Shamans will give you a better idea of their current healing potential (but it's quite insane now, especially with new AM channel heal boost).

Wasn't the Zealot ap ritual mirrored to the Runepriest ritual recently? It's bad news for Destro in general, but at least you don't have to dot things just to proc your ap+ anymore.

Not yet but Aza has said/strongly hinted that it's about to happen.
