New to the Game. Looking for input

Hello, I'm new to the game, but a long time fan of Warhammer in General. Looking to get some input on characters I plan on making. For DPS I know I'm going to be making a Marauder, but was curious for my Tank class between the Black Orc or Chosen, what are the main differences between the two and which one is generally considered the more fun to play? If I was going to roll an Order character, it'd easily be a Slayer or Knight of the Blazing Sun. Like I said, and input would be appreciated.

Main difference is the way they are played. Chosen is straight forward where you can use pretty much all abilities whenever you want. Black Orc uses sort of a combo mechanic, where you start off with any of your most basic attacks, which puts you in "2nd gear" where other attacks are made available. Lastly you get into 3rd gear where your "combo finishers" are.

Chosen had a class mechanic where you had to "twist" auras. It got automated on live servers with macros/addons/scripts. They went with being able to toggle 3 auras at the same time on RoR instead.

Popular opinion seems to be that Black Orc is the way to go if you want to do 2H spec out of the two.

Their toolkit differs too. Chosen has great CC potential. BO has a better 2H/offensive potential.

Black Orcs look like total juggernaut beasts in high tier armor.

Chosen is probably the easiest class to play, as you don't need to focus on any mechanic, simply be on top of your assisting, your ability cooldowns, positioning and who on your team needs guard and you're set. It's capable of soaking up tons of damage, however it doesn't shine for its DPS output until later on, as opposed to a black orc. BOs have a mechanic to worry about and do not have a single target punt, however they dish out a respectable amount of damage when wielding a sword and shield.

You can't go wrong either way at the moment, pick what you think looks the coolest and make sure you're attempting to make friends to play with regularly, as it'll greatly increase the amount of fun to be had when you can guard someone you can trust to communicate and play with you well.

As for order, a knight plays identical to a chosen, as does a slayer to a choppa albeit with a few slightly different abilities. Choppas and slayers will explode when out of position and not supported by a tank and healer, so most people suggest newer players to avoid them.

So I started on my BO first, going to do my Chosen next I believe. So, I'm still new but I assume the majority of end game is RvR or PvP in some sense. Between BO or Chosen, which one has more of an impact in those end game RvR's or whatever the end game is.

From what I've read here and heard in game, generally it's that BO's do more dmg while Chosen are harder to kill and have more general utility, would that be a fair assumption? If so, wouldn't the Chosen be the obvious choice? As much as I love a big mean Black Orc, do they realistically compare to Chosen?

doesn't really matter, BO is as welcomed as Chosen in warband rvr. But yes chosen is the tank with more utility and better CC.

As someone who is new can I ask how BG stacks up as well? How is their CC / damage / durability / utility in comparison? Are they welcomed to Warbands and PvE groups? I was thinking of rolling a 2H BG. I really love the Spears and looks.

All the tank classes have the ability with the right gear and spec to soak up a ton of damage. Where they differ is their mechanics, the debuffs and buffs they bring and their crowd control abilities. Black guard can increase the enemies chance to be crit, as well as being able to punt the enemy further than any other class in game. They also do respectable damage in 2h, which is how most people play it.

The good news is whatever class you choose, it pairs well with other classes. You really can't go wrong. Pick what you thinks looks cool.

I would have to say the 1997 Volvo 242 GT is the best value in 5-speed manual sedans. It had a spirited 6 cylinder engine, and great handling. At roughly $3500-$4000 USD, it's great value.
