Mid tier rvr

My Chosen is currently r24/rr31. Now here's the thing, since the changes to rvr rewards, what is the point if doing rvr?

I'm a pure casual yet I can do a rank a night between PQ's and SC's, the exp rewards for a solid two hours of rvr are less than half that. I'm advancing RR nicely via SC's.

There is no real point to two hours rvr for the chance of a gold bag and some gear I'll be out-leveling in a few days or 5 tokens.

In all honesty after RR30 there is no point in rvr till 40/41, you can easily get to rr41 in T4 SC's after rank 31.

There is no reason not to do pq's and sc's on renown green gear till 40/41. A few days of that and you'll have full anni and ready for the main gear grind.

I do NOT think players should get end game gear at rank 24 but I think some thought should be put to this before we see numbers in the rvr lakes reduce to just r40/rr41 plus.

From purely a reward standpoint you are right. But rvr was never the best way to get exp. The not getting end game gear sub 40 doesnt bother me at all.

The point that it gets a little goofy is if you are 40 and sub 41 renown. The reason is if you do SCs you get conq tokens, but if you RvR you get officer. Both give you renown, so if you like both SCs are clearly the better way to go.

You can still do the kill quest for the renown pots though, so there is still some reward advantage to rvr even at that point.

If you just do whatever you enjoy you will be fine either way. If you are all about rewards I would do SCs until 41 in the games current state.

I'm not on about rewards per se, I prefer sc's anyway.

My point is the rvr requires a decent number to really work and the current system means only 40/41+ really benefit so the system now encourages ignoring rvr untill that point.

This erodes the player numbers in rvr.

I think the old system was quite fine, join T4 at rank 16, sure it looks bad that you lack skills and tactics and gear, but at least you get nice bolster and can instantly start working towards endgame gear, because thats where the endgame truly starts. Maybe you die a lot as lowbie, but with each zone locked, you had decent RNG chance to win Conq, Subju, Genesis, even if being a lowbie meant suffering a bit, because the rewards were good.
Now, a bit meh. The suffering of a lowbie in T4 had previously very solid reward and endame gear advancement, now its mostly suffering.

Probably just means more PQ and SC grinding to get to 40/40 and less RvR interests, but meh, I'll keep leveling alts anyway.

The irony is it has sped up leveling. I leveled my slayer in rvr to grind gear and it took ages. Now with my chosen I just ignore rvr and level faster.

Maybe that will balance out, less under 40's in rvr but more getting to 40 quicker.

I have a lot of characters in the high 20's low 30's. RVR sucks right now. There are too many people fighting at once. One side is typically grossly outnumbered, and in the higher tier zones, I find myself running around in a warband for 10 min at a a time going from one BO to the next. Most of the time you're warband is either gang banging 2 or 3 stragglers or getting hammered by 2 or three times the numbers.

I really miss the tier 2 fights from a year, year and a half ago in Troll country etc. Hopefully the numbers have increased enough where maybe they would consider putting back in mid tier RVR. A little less organized, no mass morale dumps that are undefendable, just real fun back and forth Mass PVP. Makes me nostalgic for the original Alterac Valley in WOW.

The numbers seem there in RVR, especially on destro, a trial period of mid tier pvp again would be awesome. Also the rewards are garbage again, so I anticipate over the next month anyone trying RVR sub 30 will stop and just go do SC's / PVE grind, or reroll and just play the low tiers.
