Help leveling and getting started

Hey, so I just got back into the game and my two characters I play most are the Sorceress and Witch Elves (I guess I have a type) and I'm finding it a bit difficult to really get moving. I'm rank 12 and questing is kinda slow and boring, not giving nearly as much exp per quest as I had hoped. I also find myself pretty scarce on gear, I can't even find a single head equip yet! RvR has been enjoyable but it's more fun when you can really make use of all the skills at your disposal and a build you really like. Can anyone help me out here?

War had no Helmets till lvl 11 or 13 originally.
Overall find a guild ingame, hookupo with some other lads in Nordland and you will be instantly on lvl 16 and can join the big War.

Can't say for your sorc as I never played it, I prefer Magus as gameplay.

For the WE if you want to gain some levels fast, farming mobs around your level (-2 up to +1 level) is the fastest way I know off. Find a spot, shadowlands would be my choice.

For shadowlands.
Scorpions at the first camp till 12-13, the other scorpions near the 2nd camp down the road till 14-15, wolves just ouside camp 3 till 16-17.

All three camps in shadowlands have a merchant selling low end gear. The third camp (the one with the wolves near it) is selling greens for sure, including decent daggers for a decent upgrade. You should find your helms in those 3 camps there. It's going to cost you some gold although but if you just farm, it should balance out your income and money spend for upgrades.

Once 16+ do some scenarios, for the fun of doing them of course, but also for the embleems for your WE's daggers for a great upgrade at level 20.
