My Zealot just hit 40 a few days ago and I've never played a RP so no pro here. From what I can tell the major difference between the 2 playstyles would be the Zealot tactic Scourged Warping. It gives your DoT a chance to proc and make your next Scourge (their main DD spell) an instant cast. DoT up a few people and you basically get endless instacast Scourges for a little bit, this let's them be very mobile in combat, I don't believe RP get anything like it. Another big difference is their snares, Zealot only gets the 1 and it's on a channeled ability you need to stand still for so it's not exactly great for chasing or running away from anyone since you can't move while you channel it, RP on the other hand get a snare tied to their DoT so will have a much easier time running from someone I imagine, probably chasing them too although they probably won't be able to pump out as much damage as a Zealot if they are always running after someone.
Aside from those there's plenty of more obvious differences, just compare their trees on the career builder, in some slots they have wildly different abilities, like zealot getting Mirror of Madness and Winds of Insanity while RP get Rune of Fate and Grimnir's Fury. I also hear Zealots have an easier time applying AoE heal debuffs via their aoe in dark rites that has a much lower CD than the RP version, although that was changed in the last patch so no idea if that's still true. O yeah and morales, they got some different ones, the Zealot M1 debuff is pretty amazing but not sure if it's better than the RP nuke+ap steal version for solo roaming.
