Character creation error/cant choose a name

I've tried relaunching the game but when i try to create my character i get the error: cannot create the name is a duplicate, choose a new one

even when i type things like aweawdcawda

I get the same error esque its a bug or not ????

Had the same problem before, just close down game and launcher then relaunch both and try again.

Nevermind i had random name clicked and tried writing my own i now own a character

I was going to post about this problem but since you guys already did (thanks for dat)...
I have the same problem

When you choose an invalid name (for example, name is already taken) you will get an error. Every time you try to input a new name AFTER you got than error will be an error as well (this is a bug).

What you need to do is close your game and launch it again. Now try a different name and, if it's not taken, you won't get any errors. However, if you are unlucky and that name is also taken (therefore giving you an error), you will need to close the game again (and relog and try again for the third time... and so and so until you finally get it).

Hint: Don't choose names that are obviously taken (Gotrek, Drizzt, Legolas, etc. etc.).
