The Problem:
RvR, by and large, is boring. It involves a lot of positioning, waiting, guarding, hitting empty BO's, and standing around doing nothing while you wait for the door to go down. If there is a fight, chances are good one side is zerging to the point of futility. Either way, small groups have very little to do because they lack feasible targets.
The Proposal:
Add a PQ to each lake to kill enemy forces. First realm to, say, 500 kills gets a loot chest in their keep. Since this is RvR that obviously includes players, but in the interest of breaking up the zerg and adding things to do for smaller groups, I propose this PQ come along with a dozen or so small NPC camps of order and destro NPC's fighting each other. The NPC's would be level 40 (or whatever the max level for the tier is) champions, count toward the PQ, and have decent to potentially valuable drops, IE medallions or good crafting materials. There could also be two larger camps at each Battle Objective to encourage defending them rather than wandering aimlessly or sitting and doing nothing.
This helps the RvR lakes in a number of ways:
- It incentivizes smaller groups to improve loot gains per player while also spreading them out to farm different camps.
- It brings people into the lake to gain the benefit of the PQ rewards and NPC drops.
- It increases the likelihood of those small groups running into each other and skirmishing happening as a result.
- It allows farming for professions while also participating in RvR.
- It gives static targets for roaming RvR parties to hit, enabling a more guerrilla style fight.
