Hello,
I am thinking of starting on this server but am wondering what the state of melee-healing was during the 1.4.8 patch. I left right after patch 1.4 (right after the pvp expansion) and I remember "Grace" specced warrior priests got nerfed pretty badly. Did the same apply to the DoK "Sarcrifice" melee-healing spec? If anyone that was still playing one of these 2 specs at the end of WAR could explain or five details I would appreciate it alot!
Thanks.

Their T4 performance is not important, because we are years away from it. In lower tiers it was quite good, for both sides, unless you meet an enemy kiter.
Dying is no option.
Re: State of melee healing in 1.4.8
In the lower tiers it was fine and when it was buffed with the best st heal in the game it gave them much better survivability against kiters. Unfortunately this buff had the knockon effect of breaking any sembalance healing class balance.

Re: State of melee healing in 1.4.8
The only dps dok doing fine in warpforge was drizzit and as far i know dok/wp off build where never and i say never viable in t4 unless 1 vs 1.
There are plenty of dps that await you and healers are a lot fun, more than you can image, so rol something and enter, server still alpha, but get improved, so you can start roll and try for see if you like something.

In DPS Spec the AP heal is so low, not worth to mention. It won't help to heal the dmg dealt by a kiting rdps.Telen wrote:In the lower tiers it was fine and when it was buffed with the best st heal in the game it gave them much better survivability against kiters. In healing spec on the other hand it was great, best ST heal.
Dying is no option.

They were viable in small scale RvR (which is what i enjoyed the most; i hated doing the warcamp tango). Get a tank, a real healer (zealot preferably), one or 2 dps classes and roam the lakes (staying away from the zerg).Tesq wrote:The only dps dok doing fine in warpforge was drizzit and as far i know dok/wp off build where never and i say never viable in t4 unless 1 vs 1.

You have a class that is decent at sustained damage, can help with healing, can revive your main healer in case he dies, doesnt need a guard most of the time (AoE detaunt ftw), grants snare proc on all attacks (CoC) and has an uncleansable healing debuff (CoK). Pretty solid if you ask me.
Re: State of melee healing in 1.4.8
Having said that: Yes, they are amazing in lower tiers. But a decent SW/SH kiter will pwn them.

dps healers must die

Even in T4 it was fun - not good, but could more or less keep up in usefulness with healing AMs.
Anyway, with a bit of luck, this server might solve some of the problems brought by the insane ressource generation of high ranked healing WPs and Doks.
