Increase melee range, thats what Mythic took few years to realize, running along someone not being able to hit is kinda sad

Well i agree with you, for snares sometimes u have to almost stand ontop of people to make it trigger and its annoying same goes for hit as u said.

I must agree with this suggestion, not only because of lack of hit reliability, but because channeled melee abilities are useless in PvP.

It's not such a big problem for me when there is no cooldown on the ability.
But i have it relatively often, that abilitys like "deathblow" (30 sec cd.) don't hit the target but go on cooldown.

i always thought this problem has something to do with the server - client query. or something with "laggs" from the server

Problem with Mythics fix was it lead to the hilarious stretch armstrong melee where you could be hit by someone who was 60 feet away on your screen. When really they were right next to you on theirs. It was the same lag that allowed someone to cast on you when on your screen they were 100+ feet away and by the end of the cast they were 200 feet. Maras and WL abused this to death by running away while widening the lag range for massive pulls that put people out of heal range.

They originally built the client on a **** engine and gave everyone huge amounts of cc and no immunities. So lag range issues werent a huge deal. When they changed the game to a much more mobile playstyle the engine just wasnt developed properly for it.

That sounds like trusting the client, which is indeed idiotic. However, increasing the server's melee range while leaving the client unmodified may help.

Yeah they didnt increase range just changed range checking to player client from target client. Mythic just didnt have the resources for anything but these quick easy changes.
