Dear devs,
I have been a player of the game since 2008, in many servers from live and, nowadays, here in the private server. So it's obvious I really love this game and I spend a lot of my time playing it. My main is full mercenary, and I have another 7 characters in T4. All of them are, at least, full devastator. I have fourteen characters in this moment.
I would like to thank you all for your unpayable job, developing again the game from nothing to a great T4 patch, full of players and increasing. Thank you a lot for your dedicated time in order to give us a medium to meet new people, keep our friends from live and for giving us so much fun. I appreciate this so much.
A massive online role playing game is, first of all, a social game. The force that keep the people playing is not the loot, or the easy playing, the objectives taking either. The force that keep the people playing is the friendship growing between the people playing toghether when they wouldn't have been able to do it because the distance. The online game takes your warband to your home and stablishes relationships between very different people with one thing in common only: the game.
All we know the server is in an alpha testing status, and many things are not working properly and all we are discovering problems every day. Devs are confronting new problems with the community's permanent and quick growth and the legacy rights of the brand. The Ddosing attacks happen too much than normally but the community is accepting the facts with stoicism.
Because all of this, we can assume that RoR's community is, generally speaking, a very mature community that understands the staff's difficulties, although we will allways have many WoWcryers prepared for flaming in the forums. The community is strong and is growing healthyly so it's prepared for any inconvenience such as a full wipe.
The full wipe is a weapon that alpha testers allways have. It's a holly potent weapon in order to resume and save all the good work in developing while it cleans the harassment of corrupted data that poisons the BD's and kills the server fluency.
As far as I am concerned, we are prepared for a full wipe when the staff finds it useful in the developing of the game.
Thanks for reading and keep on working.

Re: Full wipe
Although I would not mind a full wipe, I can guarantee you not everyone is prepared. Some will leave.
Re: Full wipe
Perhaps for a while, not forever.

Re: Full wipe
If this is a proper Alpha, then a full wipe when the game goes live (if it ever goes live) should, indeed take place. However I don't think it will happen because most people would leave, as the guy above me just said. As for me, I can't even imagine losing everything and having to start all over again.
Re: Full wipe
But what would a wipe do? Why is wipe needed?
Re: Full wipe
It comes with the territory. I'm ready for it now and I'll be ready for it if it happens in another year. I play the game cuz I like the game, I came back to the game cuz I like the game, not some cost-sunk fallacy.

Re: Full wipe
If a wipe is needed, I am sure they'll do it. No point in telling them that. They stated numerous time they would wipe stuff that they deemed necessary to wipe.
Although, I fail to see how wiping everyone to level 1 now, would help them in testing the T4 stuff that sill needs to be patched.

You know, I thought this was a really well thought out post minus a few typos and whatnot, until you went with the WoWcryers comment, you are intentionally goading people with that little jab for no other reason then you think it's funny and you have assured yourself that these people you are referring to will take the bait to vindicate your post. It stood on it's own then your credibility and maturity just dropped. Don't be this guy.

Re: Full wipe
Just to clarify; in the game's current state, there is no intention of wiping fully unless it is deemed truly necessary. There have been wipes in the past, usually in the wake of a heavy, server-wide exploit, and even those were rare considering how much potential there has been. We try to keep the amount of wipes necessary to a minimum.

Re: Full wipe
The way progression is currently being handled (non alpha like) would cause massive asshurt if there was a wipe.
