Choppa Vs. Black Orc

Which one would be better for soloing?

I have a Magus but it can get pretty boring after a while and I like to change it up.

All classes can solo, its all about picking your battles

Likewise Both classes can solo fine if played well, pick the class that better fits you

depends. i personally don't find the BO to be as good as the BG or Chosen for soloing potential. they're both good, and I'm yet to see an actual good choppa soloer apart from some dude from LoB so join in!

I prefer the Choppa- charge + ease - As for the Black Orc... I like the gear... both also lack any decent CC.. the Choppa has a knock down but you can't use it unless you're Berserk which take a while-

I was considering a Black Guard...I rarely see any 2h ones out though.

Choppa works for solo, but it's an unreliable b#tch, Blorc I would say, it's more tediuous, but you survive ****, and damn "nutkick" !

Me I main Choppa, and I don't find it very effective, but It's a fun class. the AOE spec sucks legendary dong tho.

hence the picking your battles thing, time you engagement while taking note of the environment so you can see places where you can hide or LoS targets so you can get on top of them and snare them.

Choppa is not unreliable, once you stack a lot of parry, resolute defense, channeled heal and get good defensive gear you can take on most MDPS, lolmdps 2h tanks and if engaged properly even RDPS

You need to be aware of the limits of the class

Yes the AoE spec is trash

With choppa once you can get good defensive gear you can slot no rage drop tactic to have try and hurt me and sit down on demand

Secondly BO has

Snare with trip em up
30 ft root with where you going
30 ft 5s CD snare with Big Brawlin or on demand 3s KD with down you go if you use change da plan then big swing to immediately put you into da best plan stance

Snares are fine, but I meant disables- disarm, silence, knockdown, and stagger.

As for the root... the root would be great if the Black Orc was a ranged class... the knock down also requires a shield and 10 points. It's the same with the Black Guard.

As for going with a (true) melee career all that's left is a Witch Elf (don't like playing females in mmos) and a Marauder.

for soloing i would say the black orc... the reasons are:

1) black orc with STR has hard hits because of some tactics can be used.... choppa on the other hand is depedant on GUARD by tanks because of his passive (losing half of his defenses when in berzerk)
2) an as tank has enough survivability... considered as a a tank class blorc on every lvl is raising survivability stats (like wounds) but never except to get as high number on STR as choppa...

3) no matter solo or in group, black orc except anything else can bring utility (snares, debuffs, knocdowns, knock backs, silence, and i am sure that if you check the mastery trees you will find a hell of utility for you or your groupmates)

on the other hand i am not a fan of people that go for dps blorcs... but though if it's only for soloing as a tank you will hardly be able to kill people around and get medallions for gear... if you want completely soloing get a Witch Elf....

Choppa is much better, maybe not in all situations. But the choppa will yield better results in a wider range of situations where the BO just can't do anything.

Mostly due to the fact that it's much harder to kite a choppa w/ it's MDPS mechanics such as snare immunity/charge, and it's inc healdebuff and damage output means it can win fights against healer 1v1/1vx where black orc will only beat a healer or group w/ a healer if that healer is pure garbage or really undergeared.

BO will have an easier time fighting melee classes 1v1, but most smart order will just run away from a BO since they know it's a totally uneven fight most of the time.

I would go for a Choppa, because killing enemies faster than BOrcs and having charge will mean you get zerged down a lot less while soloing.
