Black screen and 'Stopped working'

Hai!

Just downloaded the game after having run it a good few months back.
I downloaded the game from the supplied torrent, moved the folder to a different location, downloaded the RoRlauncher.exe and now when I run the game I only see the interface and a black screen. I can't create a character, because I can't see anything and when I try to run the game with my previously created character, I get a 'WAR.exe has stopped working' error or a Visual C++ Runtime error.

I also found that all UI windows have a transparent background, I believe these backgrounds should just be black.

What I tried:
- Fixed the xml for NerfedButtons
- Added all .exe to the Windows Firewall exceptions
- Took ownership of the game folder
- Remove the read-only checkbox (it returns partially checked every time, though)
- Running in Win7 compatibility mode (I'm on Windows 10)
- Running as administrator

I've also tried to remove all addons in the interface/AddOns folder. This still leaves me with a black screen where my character should be and then I get stuck at the loading screen whenever I try to enter the game.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

You tried downloading the latest Visual C++ Runtime package and repair/update it?

Yep! Tried that, just downloaded both the x86 and the x64 versions and repaired both of them. Still the same problems, though I only get an error message saying "Warhammer Online: ... has stopped working".

Have you tried downloading the game again. Perhaps something has become corrupted.

I've tried downloading the game a few times, both from torrent and from a pCloud link you shared somewhere. Are there any other sources available?

Both them work fine. Try performing scans to fix any issues. Ccleaner can be used to fix any registry issues, but it does clear your browser cookies.

Just ran CCleaner (I've got loads of cookies in my cupboard anyway!) but no dice, sadly.
