Hi, I've been looking into some behavior I don't think is correct.. I'm trying to pin point it, but so far I don't have a proper explanation, but what I do know is I have lots TONS of heals on myself when getting attacked and having my target changed - rather instead of having no one targeted (as a way to target self) then getting a target via being hit.
That's the most accurate I can describe at this point, looking for more input to figure out the best solution.
I have the feeling, though, this one is a 'can't fix yet' or "it's part of the client"....
thx

Re: Targetting self as a healer..
when you being hit, you get a offensive (edit) target (the enemy) it has no influence on your heals going to yourself.

Re: Targetting self as a healer..
If you have no one targeted, your heals go to yourself.
If you have an offensive target, but no defensive target, your heals still go to you, but your attacks go to the offensive target.
If you have a defensive target, your heals go to that target.
You can have both an offensive target and a defensive target simultaneously.
As a healer I suggest you keybind "Target Self" and "Cycle Friendly Targets" to places you can readily press. Those two are invaluable for quick targeting without clicking.

Re: Targetting self as a healer..
I would be curious to know how accurate the self-targeting-by-targeting-nothing actually is. On my AM it seems to work most of the time but just last night it failed 2 times in SCs - I clicked the ground to clear my targets, attempted to heal myself, first heal worked, then I was hit by an enemy so I gained an offensive target and at that point my self-heals stopped working and i had to physically target myself.
On my zealot I feel like I've had this problem more frequently, to the point that I've gotten in the habit of always just targetting myself via my unit frames just like i would a group/wb member or by using a bound key.
Up til now I thought it was just me clicking other targets by accident when i thought i was clicking the ground but maybe it really is an issue?

This is exactly what I'm talking about.Midwifery wrote:I would be curious to know how accurate the self-targeting-by-targeting-nothing actually is. Re: Targetting self as a healer..
The targeting self when being hit seems to be touch and go. Sometimes it remembers you and sometimes you get that no target message. I have self target bound to my zero on the number pad, so my pinky can find it quickly.

Re: Targetting self as a healer..
You could bind a key to target self. Most people are used to Alt being a modifier for self-cast. Even though binding it to a key will change your target, it'll function the same.
