I just wanted to let you know, that your stick post is outdated.
When you go to: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2889
and try to download the "d3dx9_34.dll was not found!"-File from megauploade it says, that the file has been deleted.

If you are facing this problem right now, here is a link (http://www.chip.de/downloads/DirectX_13002926.html), where you can get the right Dx-Version. (At least it´s working for me)
Ah - Like real WAR; I had the exact same problem back in 2008.
