I have a rather unique personal configuration, using multi-seat software to boot two copies of windows at once and use two monitors/mice/keyboards to run two separate gaming stations off of my one computer. This results in some obscure behaviors in software, namely the need to sandbox things so they can't see the other copy running.
Anyhow, ROR refuses to load the second client. Even loading into a sandbox, loading the second client either fails outright (no error, just doesn't work. Nothing in logs) or it closes the first client and loads up the second. Is there any workaround for this? I'd love to be able to play WAR with the GF, and currently incapable of doing so.
Loading two clients on one computer.

Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
What is the purpose of this exercise?
Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
I guess that's not possible to make multiboxing harder:
http://www.returnofreckoning.com/forum/ ... 485#p25855- Don't multibox characters. This is defined as engaging in gameplay with more than one character under your control at once, be this in PvP or PvE, via any means.

to what extend would dual logging be legal on RoR, if at all?Azarael wrote:What is the purpose of this exercise?

Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
Banned unless each client is controlled by a separate human player.
Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
He wrote that he wants to play ROR on one machine together with his girlfriend.
Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
Two monitors, two mice, two keyboards. One is controlled by me, the other by my GF. I've got enough power to drive two copies of the large majority of games we play, so we haven't had a need to purchase a second gaming computer.Azarael wrote:What is the purpose of this exercise?
So the purpose would be to be able to play together.
Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
All right. I didn't quite understand it the first time.
This sounds like a restriction related to the public version of the launcher. The dev launcher allows multiple clients to be run on the same PC without the need to sandbox (using a separate installation for each one).

Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
Ah, so there is no real workaround and it likely won't be changed?
@Luth's comment, it appears intentional to prevent multi-boxing/match fixing?
Guess I'll have to stick to solo play then. Thanks Azarael.

Re: Loading two clients on one computer.
thats the benefit of a non profit game, mythic didnt care cause they got money of multiple installation and thus having multiboxing (and exploiting with 2 chars) enabled
bad for your purpose though. (either real or very well thought out reason
