Well NA lost probably about 50 total players, those in my guild as well as those who were rolling up toons to fights us. Unfortunately banning the GM of a large guild over a stupid misunderstanding will do that. :( Good news is, I will still be playing for the time being!

You guys keep posting about your banned GM like he didn't delibertly insult a dev by calling him a slur. I'm an American before you come back with some euro trash comment. It's comments like the ones were made that give Americans a bad reputation.

I would invite my friends who played Warhammer live to play, but it would be unplayable for them. They can't even keep a constant connection playing gw2. Welcome to the average American internet provider.
Order only. Just High Elves.
Xramoth-Swordmaster (in live was Ramoth)
Caranath-White Lion (in live was Niniel)
Maldavie-Archmage (Same name in live)

First of all, a slur would be calling ME a ni**er because I am BLACK not calling someone a grammar nazi because they are needlessly and pointlessly being **** about someone's spelling, use of punctuation, and/or grammar in general.

Secondly, as a fellow American, unless you are really young or completely out of touch with pop culture in the 90's you would realize that an entire generation or two of Americans use 'nazi' as slang to describe being overly nitpicky/****/persnickity/you get the idea. It doesn't have anything to do with actual real life nazi's and is absolutely not a slur in that context. The use of that word in slang began with a sitcom episode of Seinfeld in the mid 90's.

Reference this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0697782/
and this: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... =soup+Nazi

And before you tell me (like some other idiot tried to) that this isn't common slang, you have to understand the impact that this show had on the average American in the 90's. It was regarded as the greatest American television show of all time and it had a massive impact. Reference the wiki article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seinfeld

This began a long series of people beginning to use words in conjunction with 'nazi' to humorously describe something as being overtly ****. One just about everyone is familiar with that has come to stand completely on its own as the internet became ubiquitous is "grammar nazi". See reference: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... ammar+Nazi If you picked apart my word usage/spelling/grammar and I called you a grammar nazi for doing it, would you consider that a slur? Would you be so stupid as to actually think I am calling you a member of the nazi party that was responsible for genocide. No, no you absolutely would not. So yeah, people began to attach 'nazi' on to the end of things in the 90s and it has continued. For a while there I commonly referred to my wife as the toilet seat nazi because of the rash of **** she would give me for leaving the seat up after pissing. Believe me when I say I was not actually calling my wife a real life nazi.

Also, I would like to point out that it was ME and not my GM who made the 'channel nazi' in the first place. Why he was banned for it, I have no freaking clue. The reason why I made that reference is because we had people rolling fresh to order that were told in our teamspeak to 'x' up in chat to make it easier to guild invite, that were doing so as they got into the game, and were getting channel permissions yanked the very first time they ever used the channel. We did the same exact thing when we initially rolled destro, and not one person gave us a hard time about it or warned us that it was wrong. So naturally once someone starts giving you a hard time about something that was perceived as acceptable in the past and starts revoking privs, you are going to be a tad upset and defensive about it. I mean honestly, with the initial channel setup and all the chaos of trying to get everyone rolled and in game, I didnt even see the GM going ballistic in chat about people 'X'ing for guild invite until the first person had privs revoked.

Anyways, I guess my point is that what you 'think' happened and what really happened are two different things. Not only that, losing such a large pool of players over a misunderstanding was beyond silly. A simple discussion and conversation could have cleared the whole thing up before it snowballed. As a guild, we absolutely love and respect the work that the devs are doing to resurrect a game many of us played on live for years. There was no intent whatsoever to disrespect any of that.
