Why so tediuos?

See that? My little play on words up there? Anyways.
Warhammer was always kind of tedious. Back on live, it started with rr60 and up, but until then, it was a blast. If you leveled through Scens or Open RVR you would be able to buy devastator once you reached its level.
Of course the original Warhammer Online needed these long hours of playtime at the end, because it was subscription based and all those top tier players needed something to do.
Now RoR on the other hand is free to play, which I greatly appreaciate. It's the same game I loved back then, for the most parts.
But that game is 8 years old, so it stands to reason that everyone who played it back then is now 8 years older and probably has a job, children maybe. Responsibilities, is what I'm saying. I maybe get to play 2 or 3 times a week, for a few hours, and I'm willing to believe that I'm not alone with this.
It's really hard for me to play this game, the progress is just so slow that, whenever I feel I'm getting close to reaching a goal, say level 32, some patch comes and raises the bar off into the distance. And I can't help but wonder why.
You don't have to keep people playing, you gain no money from it, so why put us though this tedius grind, where (as it currently stands) I have to do open and scens exclusivly in Empire t2 for days, because I don't have enough gold to travel to the other locations. Where I maybe gain 1 or 2 levels a session because the kill quests award so little. Why does it have to take so long to get full gear once level 32? Nobody gains anything. We don't play RoR for the grind, we play it because we love Warhammer RvR and PvP.
All I'm saying is: please let me play with you guys, even though I don't have much time. At least tell me what goal you try to reach by making it difficult for us to have fun. Is it because you hate me? Please don't hate me.
Thank you.
