How are Marauders?

I know that not having full access to all the ranks/RR is limiting builds and classes right now and I didn't really see a thread to discuss Marauders in general in the Chaos classes section so I decided to ask here.

Are they UP? OP? I don't see too many of them, are they waiting for more Ranks to be unlocked in the game or just not a popular playstyle? All 3 specs working or some not worth going for?

I seem to recall late game Marauders being obnoxious as hell in Live but like I said, pretty rare seeing them(granted I'm only still in T1 atm).

Thanks

Yeah there's quite a lot of marauders in t3

Maras are EXTREAMLY strong

Now what you said about maras is true they were obnoxious on live but that was because of bugged tactics that never got fixed

Such as piercing bite, deadly clutch and feeding on fear

Mara has a lot of potent debuffs and high damage including the highest wounds debuff in the game that unlike other classes can be applied with little to no requirement on a low cooldown with high uptime

The is a pretty decent possibility that if Mara is still over the top come t 4 the class might be nerfed some

It depends on weather or not the fixed bugged tactics brings Mara in line

Ahhh so they are good, it's just everyone playing this already has one in T3 so I don't see them in T1 eh?

All 3 specs viable or no?

Yeah t1 is where mostly these days people are leveling their alts like healers and stuff

Now about builds all 3 mastery trees are "good"

The problem is that savagery + brutality combo

far outshines the savagery + monstrosity combo

If I was forced to play mdps, it would be a marauder. They are a Swiss Army knife of death.

They are good but cant get all the good stuff in combination atm. When they do that's when they will become crazy good.

Tenton is pretty on the spot about marauders. Only thing I would change for his RR70 spec is take the heal-debuff tactic to give you tactic options. Two of the Marauders amazing tactics become available in tier 4: Piecing Bite, Feeding on Fear. While Growing Instablilty is great, you wont see it in tier 3 due to needing Cutting claw and Thunderous Blows.

(Brutality is possible in tier 3 RR40 Full Dev)

Marauders are pretty well balanced right now, and are a great addition to any group. I dont know about them being unpopular, I do see them fairly often, though not as often as sorcs/choppas (I dont get destro pugs fascination with choppas). If you do play one now you want to go 100% sav, the only exception is if for some reason you run a 2x mara melee train, and you could have one go sav and the other brut, but thats not recommended unless you are really coordinated.

Once they get GI, pull, MA, guillotine, PB, and so on at 40, they become god mode, and will be a lot more popular.

I rolled a Mara week ago and have had absolute blast. Pretty much 2h tank survivability added with tons of debuffs and considerable burst capabilities. Choppa will go for aoe duty solely from now on for me.
