New player.. class question

How are melee vs ranged dps ? is range superior due to kiting or is all balance?

- Im looking for a strong ranged class ( primeval class in aa, ranger in bdo, hunter in WoW )

- big burst, nice skill animations

- pet? ( dont really need )

SH/SW fit your bill the best.

Thread could go on for days about MDPS vs RDPS, on live the general consensus was that MDPS > RDPS because of better overall burst and synergy with guard etc... But things will be different on this server as the devs intend to balance things. I wouldn't play a certain class or archetype based on what is perceived to be better atm, go with what you think is most aesthetically/lore pleasing to you.

Ranged Physical + Pet = Squigherder

If youre going to play order, its Shadow Warrior or Brightwizard. BW has the problem of getting selfburnt by his spells, while SW has 3 stances which determine if we is going melee, ranged sniper or skirmish kiting. SW general has less drawbacks than BW, but BW overall - in the right circumstances - has a Lot more damage and burst. SW and SH are basically sustained physical dps, while the mages are 'suicidal' burst classes

are these the only range/bow type class ?

also can u explain whats their gameplay ( BW = setting up traps and stun locking to death, SW = dots, dots, dots, pewpewpew)

The BW works on a basis of back loading your DPS a basic rotation explained would look like;

Ignite: This is a basic instant cast damage over time spell it lasts 10 seconds and its damage is OK, the important thing about this dot is that you can link a tactic to it to make it debuff corporeal damage resistance and as BW do allot of this its a very important dot.

Boiling Blood: Only really good with the upgraded version via another tactic, this debuff is another instant cast spell there's no immediate damage but in 5 seconds time this ability is going to explode doing massive corporeal damage.

Pyroclastic Surge: A 2 second cast spell that deal corp damage and has a travel time of roughly one second.

Burning Iron: A spell with a 1 second build up it also deals corporeal damage.

Withering Heat: An instant cast instant corporeal damage spell which snares the opponent and can be channelled for additional ticks.

As you can no doubt see the abilities are designed to all deliver their damage over at most 2 seconds while a rotation such as this may take around 8 seconds all the damage is delivered in such a way that that it can burst a target down before a healer can react.

There's a little bit more to it then I've explained here but this should provide a good basic over view.

Also stun locking doesn't exist here prepare to have to work for your kills.
