Most of the scenarios I played today (as order) were lost because people don't look around, so watch your teammates. If you are a tank help your teammates, it's not your job to run solo into a group of 6 enemies and then say on /sc "wtf noobs, no heals" (that's a real situation from today).
Here's a little tip on how to win every scenario, against premade or pug:
Spoiler:
Even if you don't heal or whatever it's good to see what's happening with entire team. I see so often tanks or melee that run into enemies without even realizing team is backing up or staying fighting when there is no one else there to help them.
2. Look around.
Another failure is people don't pay attention what's happening next to them, behind them, focus tanks (as they are usually first in the line), allowing the enemy to nuke freely (today there was a sorc in t2 who did 149k dmg). Why do you even focus tanks? Look around, don't charge into battle hoping you will kill something, no. Pick your target beforehand, focus it, lock it down. Best thing ever is to kill melee, as the enemy melee will usually go for rdps and heal but leave tanks.
Look around, pay attention to what your teammates are focusing. 3 dpsers on tank? Well, tough luck, but if you see your teammates focusing a squishie- help them.
3. Think about what target to attack.
Another situation: guy from my team (let's call him "Dinkus") trying to nuke down black orc tank. Got him to 5% and bo started running away. Rejoined with dok healer and started attacking Dinkus again. What Dinkus does? Tries to finish the tank. Dinkus sees that instead of losing hp the black orc is regaining it, but does he know it's thanks to the healer standing right next to him? I don't know as I left him there and went to recap a base, it was seriously waste of my action points to heal him.
Think about the targets you pick and pick them wisely. If there is a healer+anything else go for the healer, he will heal his mate up and damage you when heals are not needed.
4. Think about your role in a party and about the others who are in your team.
Is it healing? Is it tanking? Is it dealing damage?
Doesn't matter. When match starts check your team composition. What should you do? If you are tank/melee remember that bodyblocking enemies is a great way to protect your ranged teammates. If you count for heals be aware of people's positioning on the map, if you run too far or behind an obstacle you become out of reach. Stick together, don't chase enemies, don't separate from your group.
So many scenarios lost because of chasing enemies.
5. Don't come with that "kills are more xp than winning" crap.
No comments to this one.
To be honest I don't know how to phrase it. Remember you are in a team so play as a team. Once again: look around. When I see some guy ninja caping a base in gates of ekrund and people running just next to him without even reacting I am like: what the hell is wrong with you?
Communicate. Another situation: your enemy controls stag and the crypt. All of them are at the crypt, I say go cap stag but no- people instead of regrouping go 1 by 1 to the cryp.
Sometimes I think people do that on purpose, you know? Some cross realmers fix the matches, once team A wins, once team B, fast xp. Otherwise I don't know why it is such a trouble to play as a team. This is so simple: if you do for example 500 dmg/s, with 3 more of your friends with same output you do 2k/s, focus 1 target, kill, switch to another. Usually what happens is dmg is spread between different targets. When destro does that I can solo heal 2 parties and also do some damage because hots will keep ppl alive.
If you fail with everything above at least try to learn from your mistakes. Even when I say what to do no one seems to care. I tell guy go for healer, not tank and he goes for tank, so I am like "wtf are you doing? go healer". Learning from mistakes might be a problem as I see tendency to blame others instead of thinking what you did wrong. In Tor Anroc it is typical for melee to run on the hill even if ranged dps and healers have to fall back because of being attacked by enemy melee. They die there, we die and we end up being farmed.
Once again, be aware of your surroundings, turn off smart camera following in options, keep an eye on the map (when enemy is spotted you will see it), and play as a team, communicate- if you have an idea for a tactic/strategy share it with the group (of course if it is "order f... sucks" as one guy spamming today on /advice you can save it for yourself).
I do not believe you have to join in a premade to win a sc match.
