BG help

I'm trying to get better on my blackguard and I've come to a point where I am trying to find the easiest way to swap around dark protector to take advantage of the few buffs BG has that aren't lost in the sea of auras/other buffs/potions etc...

The willpower buff comes to mind first as one of the best things we can do in terms of buffing, I think anyways. But the actual action of swapping dark protector around, keeping track of buff timers, and hatred seems pretty hard to do just out of the box.

So far I use enemy to sort my party by Tank>DPS>Healer, so I have a good idea which # party members are healers and a quick look before a scenario should make it easy to remember which exactly. I've set select party members 1-6 to ctrl+1-6, and dark protector to "e". So If I want to toss this buff onto say the healer in slot 5, I have to hit ctrl+5>e>3 then ctlr+x>e back to a target that is actually getting hit to get hatred generation again. All while making sure my hatred is high enough to even use the skill, and keeping an eye on whats going on to reselect the next dark protector target as the WP buff has a 5 sec CD and you have to wait to use it on the other healer in your party. You also have to know if those people are even in range.

What I am looking for is an easier less micro intensive way to accomplish this, via a mod or whatever. I am pretty sure I have read that using something like an ahk script to perform more than 1 action is against the rules and I don't really like the idea of using that anyways.

Also as far as setting up unit frames to display if someone is say 100ft from you without having to select them. And is there anything else you can do to get the most out of this class that isn't totally outshined by other classes or moot because of buff/debuff stacking?

Buffing people its just an upside of some of your skills, is not your main focus or job.

Put tanks who are guarding targets you want dead, heal debuff healers, kd key targets and be an overall annoyance, the buffs are not why you are in a group.

If you want to buff people, go chosen.

I know chosen is much better, but I am just looking for ways to maybe give the BG some kind of edge to compete with chosen in terms of what it can do for a group.

You did not understand what i meant, is not that chosen is better, is that you are trying to be a chosen as BG.

The buffs are not what makes you good, its just a welcome upside.

Swapping dark protector to buff different people is something you should only do when there is literally nothing else to do, your punt is on cd, so is your kd, every healer in sight is heal debuffed and properly mind killed and whoever you are in is already assured to die.

As an analogy is like a referee asking what he can do to make the grass on the field be on a better state when he is not even refereeing properly. If you want to make the grass shine, be a gardener, not a referee.

dark protector has no GCD there is no reason NOT to swap it around and use different buffs on people all while doing all those things you mentioned.

finding yourself in a situation where there is no tanks to punt or they all have immunity, and where you have all the healers in range debuffed isn't rare at all. And there is no point in punting a tank from his gaurdee if there isn't a burst about to be dropped.

Except GCDs, ttk and the usual laws of time and space?

Because dark protector may not have gcd but the skills that buff, do.

What exactly is more important than giving your healers ~400 WP? Punt/KD have cooldowns and immunities, and you can't just run a hundred miles away from your guard to go slap a heal debuff on a WP etc...
