[Witch Elf] - question about weapon speed and dps

I wanted to ask about best possible weapon set for Witch Elf. I've never played Warhammer on retail, only WoW, and I wanted to ask if general rule for choosing weapons is the same, that is: should I go for high dps slow MH and fast OH?

The reason behind it in WoW was that rogue generally used fast OH weapon to apply poisons and slow MH weapon with highest possible dmg was the one scaling with skills. Here it is quite difficult to determine it because most of the links to resources are dead, but I've found information that weapon speed affects global cooldown. Is that correct? Does that mean I should go with fastest, highest dps weapon for MH and OH?

Because I cannot see what's the weapon's base damage, right? Only the dps and speed?

Weapon-speed doesn't affect GCD. The Main-hand will hit more often. Weapon-speed is how often you'll auto-attack.
Much like in WoW, having high weapon-speed will grant you more procs for poison, and armour set procs when they're implemented. In WAR, the offhand of Witch Elves doesn't hit often.
DPS of a weapon will relate to how much damage your abilities will do, speed doesn't affect this(afaik).
The usual is prioritise the higher weapon DPS in the main-hand, if both are the same DPS then the faster weapon in the main-hand

the faster the better. gotta get the poison up time to be as high as possible, i generally look for weapons with high dps under 2.0 speed.

off hand weapons does not use weaponspeed in a fasion way but rather is procing from main hand attacks (about 45% afaik), so the faster the mainhand speed is the more chance is to proc off hand attacks faster.
Also having slower weaponspeed with the same dps as a high weapon speed weapon will result in fewer hits but with more attackdamage per hit. ex:

weapon 1: 100 dps, speed 3.0
weapon 2: 100 dps, speed 1.0

weapon 1 will hit once every 3:rd second and to 300 damage per hit, while weapon 2 hits once per second for 100 damage, but the effective DPS is the same.

weapon 2 will have more chances to proc off hand and added abilitys thou..

Might be wrong about this theorycrafting, so please correct me if i'm wrong...
