Just make it a letter like "I" or "1" if you want guard

I do not need such kinda stat, but I would not mind if it exists. The only thing I am worried about is that such a stat will lead to much misinterpretation like the total dmg stat does.

What do you mean?! Isnt total damage, and total healing a perfect stat?! (*winks @Penril)
As Az already said, they cant really add any new stats so unfortunately this is a moot thread. But fun to discuss!!!

Not a bad idea, but - as I said in an other thread - we are still in alpha. If there are no more bugs and every content is up and stable we could ask the devs for new contents like this.

Pff...I made this suggestion about 1.5 years ago.
But the idea was a different one:
There could be a third renown pool (1. damage, 2. heal) to reward tanks for proper guarding
and generally reward players for using abilities that avoid damage done to
others. E. g. casting absorb bubbles which are removed by damage, tank "challenge", tank M3/M4 and other percent based damage reducers.
So the third pool would work somehow like the "heal-pool". The renown from kills and heals needs to be toned down for this ofc. The result would be that players get rewards for almost all kinds of support, not only plain healing.
Showing the avoided damage in the scenario stats is just to make the tracked data visible somehow. I don't know if the devs could hijack one of the useless values the sc stat window to show that or the client must be modified for it.

rewards are not needed for guarding only a simple number of absorbed dmg is all i would like to see...
