EnglishBob wrote: Mon Sep 07, 2026 8:45 am Do you ever ask yourself why? They've learned the class, they know their abilities, yet something changes and they identify a problem. What's changed? One thing: they're now playing against players who are much higher level, in better gear, with more renown points to spend, better talismans, better potions... All upsides, zero downsides.

I very much doubt that... Simply because, if they would have learned their class, abilities, positioning etc, there wouldnt be such a big problem with lower gear...

I know i will be the bad guy here once again... but its pretty easy to disprove that. Just by the fact that I, and many many others, have far more than only one RR80+ character. Wich means, that we all went the way from zero again and again, in the same situation as an underequipped low level player, between high RR bis players. And still, most of us dont have such big problems. Also we do carry these new toons of guildies in our groups, to level them up. And like i mentioned before, ofc you can see a difference, but that doenst make it an issue if they know how to play. Its just not as gamebreaking as you describe it at all.

If we talk about healers, and you tell me things that positioning and detaunt is not the key to survival, you cannot outheal a DPS cause he crits you a lot (= you didnt spec futile strikes) and kill you even with guard in seconds, and that you drop willpower tactic (tremendous boost of heal output) for armor, because RP doesnt need willpower.... then i have to tell you, that your gameplay would lead to the same result with rr 80+ and gear, just because you do something wrong. And thats the point. Low lvl and gear will get compensated easyly by player and group skill. The real advantage that old players have, is their lvl of skill, and their environment of good players around them. Its not their gear in first place. And this can get gained by joining a guild, play in groups regularly instead of solo puging around, and listen to experienced players who know what they are talking about, instead of putting up aggressive resistance (wich is my main experience when someone tries to tell people what they do wrong and how to do better)

You would perform better if you spend your time learning how to play instead of checking all possible statistics like players RR

Thanks all. Some good suggestions and advice there. Plus the obligatory "learn to play", of course.

I do enjoy the scenarios the most, but I guess I need to stay out of them for the time being to avoid being crushed.

While I have not Deleted my high lvl toons, they really never get logged on, I hit 80 on my BW back in 2020, while he is BIS he is only 83 6 years later, same as my WP hit 80 in 2021 he is only 82, IB been 70 for 5 years, and my KOBS been 66 for 5 years as well.

The game is so blob these days it`s no real fun even playing them. I normally help low lvls for sewer runs, or PQ ruin, mayhem farm then bother in RVR. For the last 3 years Order captures between 5 and 8 forts every 3 days, for mostly 9 months out of the year,

just this weekend Order took 10 forts in less than 3 days, A lot were with mostly empty keeps, saw several keeps Sat, that Order took with less than 8 people defending, and Order had 4 warbands attacking. It would be nice if the guilds that supposedly Xrealm to help with balance, actually Xrealmed to help the side losing more often, than just 1 day a week.

Saw this all 4 years on live as well. new players would join the game, after a week, they would reroll to the side they perceived as winning, and make the population balance even worse. The same thing has been happening here the last few years, the Dest population keeps getting lower, players either quit the game, reroll to wining side, or stop going into RVR. all which kills the game.

I could say something now about the obligatory “Im sticking to my position even though its been disproved, and refuse to accept any kind of feedback” reaction. But since you are not looking for help and just want to vent, i only say: welcome to the solo-pug-complain community.

Honestly its easier than ever to get equipment in RoR, you did not join too late but at the perfect moment! Follow a blob WB, get Warcrests, do a few pve dungeons for ward unlocks and voilà, you have SoV gear like everyone else.

The biggest problem of this server, is that it doesn't reward Veteran players with endgame loot nor fashion to keep it interesting beyond RR80.

From a new player perspective, your biggest gap is not loot/equip but game knowledge, that is the true gap in RoR between players. An experienced player in conq/vanq gear will be better having on the scenario team and contribute more to the win than a full SoV player rr 80+that doesn't understand simple stuff, like assist or guard swap etc.

I have always said the biggest issue is renown points and sov +2. Renown points should be max 60, 1-40 then 2:1

It's too easy to be super defensive and medium to high offensive at the same time. There is no draw back.

Or alternately you could make bolster a standard RR60 points spent on defensive stats, at lvl 40 sub 60.

Take a week and adjust renown points to 60 max, and get rid of sov+2 in mastery builds. Profit.

Fresh 40 scenarios are definitely painful, but in my experience there's usually quite a few lower ranked people in each so it tends to even out. But being lower rank has its advantages: the enemy tends to target you, so good groups will make use of that and guard/focus heal you, wasting the enemies time and allowing ur own dps to kill them. Doesn't always work of course, but its fun when it does.

I'd recommend doing a decent chunk of the PvE grind to help bridge that initial gap.

It really helps to have a mix of 2 endgame gearsets. If ur in full conq, you will be missing that second set of gear bonuses which usually adds up to some decent stats.

Sentinel (BB/crypts) and Vale-Walker (HV) worked really well on my shaman, felt like a huge step up compared to what i had before. But it varies from class to class. Dark promise is the best PvE gear and damn good, but its a long grind to get there.

Personally, if ur playing solo, I'd probs respec for DPS and just go blob surf for a week or two. You'll hit 60+ pretty quick, get decent crests and hopefully some free vanq gear from sieges. If you dont wanna go dps, then best bet is get into a warband and heal.
THE BITTER END
Spitt - RR84 BO | Scrotling - RR82 Squig Herder | Scabrous - RR83 Shaman
Ayria - RR7X WE | Xotox - RR4X DoK | Anstalt - RR5X Marauder
