I understand but some classes have bigger impact than others.. For example i'm assuming that a tank will have more impact than a Witch Elf. (I could be wrong but I doubt it)

There is no best class. Only players who can play a certain class very well. Imagine people could tell you the objectively best class (which is impossible) and you surprisingly fail at it, then it wouldn't be the best class from your own perspective. Just asking this question alone feels odd to me.

I don't mean this in a rude way but this is exactly the type of answer I want to avoid. There are ALWAYS classes that perform better than others in every game whether or not you want to admit it. I am not really worried about being bad at a class I just want to play a good one and since I have no knowledge of the game i'd rather pick a good one from the get go as I won't be levelling 54 characters in this game unless I play for a LONG time.

Perhaps I didn't explain myself properly. Basically I'm OCD and I want to give the game a fair chance.. There's always better classes than others and knowing not that much about the game i'd like to be guided towards the better ones. I have a lot of experience at games and I doubt i'd be really bad at any class esp if I play them. I don't necessarily just want to play the most OP class I just want a high impact class that's fun and I'd like to know which is better in people's opinion between Knight and Chosen.

Both knight and chosen are good.
Knight is probably slightly better than chosen. It has a bit more goodies tactic and you can run a lot of em in viable specs.

Thanks, Is Knight able to solo pve no problem? If so that's what i'm doing.

I just noticed that none mentioned about class balance.
if something is too good or out of balance it's gonna be fixed.
knight/chosen is one of the class they wanted to fix.
but class stayed that way for long time, fix may not happen, who knows.

I won't worry though, after you master core skills, tanks are almost same.
