Also another factor to all this , it was much more frequent in AoR to find yourself against not only pugs, but SIGNIFICANTLY lower geared pugs as the gear and RR difference was massive(unlike in RoR) , giving you the impression that you can easily facetank the masses.

Long time ago when WAR was live i got an idea for some kind of all class balance

here it is make a resists and armor softcap tangled to wearing armor so:

tanks got 75% armor and 35% rez caps (don't start whine they still got block, distrupt and tactics reducing magic damage gona be usefull)
medium armor classes 50% armor 50% rez
cloth classes 35% armor 75% rez

what you think of it guys is it gonna be viable or current system is better, where everybody stacking armor?

It literally makes no sense for tanks to have lower resists than other classes: they are tanks, they're supposed to be able to absorb all forms of damage better than DPS and healers.

See the problem isn't the caps per se , you can still easily overcap yourself and enjoy the full benefits of stacking armor due to the fact that weapon skill and armor debuffs will put you lower ( maybe it would be a nerf for the clothies that go full on armor-). The actuall problem is the simple fact that it is way too easy to stack both resistance and armor towards and above the cap ( in the case of resistances). The amount of stats you lose for gaining significant resistance/armor boosts is negligible for alot of classes that stack/use them. And especially for healers who don't value willpower that will be the go to strategy.

Changing these mechanics tho is on a whole different level as it can raise numerous other issues , like ttk dropping significantly so its gonna require careful adjustments.

its a thread/poll for WICH class u wanna see in balance forum not a discussion about all classes balance or something else ... ache in my eyes -.- can noone close it ?

so you saying tonns of block and distrupt doesn't count as survivability besides of increesed HP

overcap and get what 2-5% more for what and cloth healers increase they survivability vs magic damage dealers.

than vote for others and write iam for all classes balancing -.- but stop to talk about these skill from these toon and these from these ... the whole thread is 90% off topic like nearly all threads -.- dat community makes me rly sad

you definitely missed my point. In my first post I did not point to issues with salvation WP now or in the old times. I m just waiting for years (since 2010) to see balance WP and DoC offensive abilities. I think WP problem with melee (grace) heal or wrath tree its not only my idea.
