These guilds that completely ignore the spirit of the game and flit between factions with no allegiance to any realm or anyone outside their cliq are a cancer on realm vs realm.
Telen wrote:If x-realming was meant to be a thing and guilds were supposed to move between factions the game would have been designed that way. You wouldnt have had single realm servers on live, you would have had leaderboard and tournaments for 6v6 like other mmos that are designed for it do. You would have had some sort of mercenary or betrayal system so you didnt need 2 accounts. They didnt even put duelling in as the game was designed around rvr.
Even the loading screens still tell you this. 'A friend is someone who has the same enemy's as you.' The game was all about the realm mechanic and the communities it creates. Right now without it its just another meaningless arena game. Theres loads of them with proper rankings and ladders. War was pretty unique.
Guilds werent about who can exploit the meta with the best 6 man setup. They were ranked on what they did for the realm war. Claiming keeps and the larger and more active the guild the higher their rank and the better tactics they got access to. It didnt reward xrealming 6 mans because that wasnt the aim of the game. Anyone with half a brain looking at this game can see the design and what it encouraged.
I agree with everything. There is no point in switching factions hither and thither. The faster we will receive Realm Lock the better for the game.

Fixt

Also to refer to Genisaurus' post, there is no hard earned rewards, warbands PvE empty, or almost empty keep in RvR. When one side is zerging, they flip zones in 15 minutes. How can you even say It's a good idea to lock those who would actually stand and fight them?
Those switching realms to actually fight the zerg are making the game better.

yes true,

in a 3 faction war I would anways put O&G into a more neutral faction, since they are not really belonging to the chaos.

telen just a headsup: vast majority of people who xrealm do so to form wbs/wb guilds. 6mans only do it when there is literally pisspoor competition on the opposing side.
the game isn't an arena game, but it has varying types of PvP: 1v1 (hence why dueling was implemented on this server); 6v6 (CW,EC, classes being balanced around 6man scale on RoR); WB vs WB. to boldly say 'this game isn't about X or y, but ONLY Z' is just ignorant.

Well there is maybe the possibility to wipe all rewards and renown earn when you take keep and objective and only earn stuff / gear / renown etc..... by fighting others people ?
Because why x-realm exist ? People want to gain renown easily
If there is no reward , then there is no point in x realming .
And maybe even add an anti AAO on the dominant side.
Probably needs a little polishing , but for me this is the best solution.

I sat in 4 keeps yesterday with less than a wb bothered to defend them. The zerg just got bigger as people switched and when I went back to the city there were over a wb of people standing around. People dont care like they did on live in the early days because there is no realm pride. xrealming kills it.

MMO's aimed at that playstyle have mechanics in the game to cater to it. Tournaments, ladders whatever. War has nothing. Guilds were rewarded and ranked not on what they did in their 6 man pres farming pugs in scs but on what they contributed to the realm. The larger and more active the higher the ranks and rewards. War is rvr thast what it was designed and advertised as. Thats what people loved and remember about it if you ask on gaming forums not the 6v6 scene. The vocal minority harmed the game trying to remove the realm mechanic in a mmo. This isnt cod. It even got so bad mythic made an arena game specifically for you and it bombed.

I have a story too. Few days ago I was in order open wb trying to take Badlands keep. Order had aao, but on order was King Own wb which made it even with less numbers. Order was on inner, was lot of fights, but it took long. After some time open wb leader decided to rather go Avelorn take empty keep and leaving fight in Badlands go to nowhere. What did xrealming do in this situation? Or true realm pride is taking empty keeps?

Not disputing the fact that the game revolves around RvR/realm. Just saying there are different types of gameplay people enjoy more. You yourself run solo as a dps am at times if I am not mistaken?

So take it if des wont react. He probably hoped it would pull some defenders from the other keep aswell. We did that all the time on live. Usually the other sde reacts and you quickly switch back tot he other keep.
